West Point Celtic Dancers

West Point Celtic Dancers The West Point Celtic Dancers are the Dance Ensemble of the West Point Pipes & Drums.

Members of the WPCD are Cadets at the United States Military Academy who compete against Navy and other FUSTA dancers. The United States Corps of Cadets Pipes & Drums provides world class musical support to the United States Corps of Cadets and the United States Military Academy in order to motivate, support, and inspire the Corps of Cadets, to instill in our forces the will to fight and win, to f

oster the support of our citizens, and to promote our national interests at home and abroad. In order to foster musical excellence, the band will compete and win in competition. On order, the United States Corps of Cadets Pipes & Drums will provide instruction in bagpiping, drumming, and Celtic dance to Cadets of all ability groups in order to personally and professionally develop them beyond their current ability.

The West Point Celtic Dancers started their first dance competition season at the Loon Mountain Highland Games. The team took 1st and 2nd place in the Highland Fling, 3rd and 4th place in the Sword Dance, and 1st in Sean Truibhas. CDT Niemi took overall 1st place for the beginner category. Good job dancers!

On Friday, the West Point Celtic Dancers traveled down to Baltimore, Maryland to compete against the Naval Academy Highland Dancers. Although Navy took the victory, the West Point Celtic Dancers were still able to motivate the crowd and the Army Football Team alongside West Point Pipes and Drums.
