We are caring parents of kids who enjoy the same game of pool we do. This league started so we could have a local spot for the kids to shoot pool. The venue we shoot at, Racks on the Rocks, is a great host letting the kids play for free. For only five dollars a week the kids learn the fundamentals of pool, sportsmanship, and make new friends. We have grown in the last year and a half and really enjoy seeing the kids make friends and their game improve. The sportsmanship we see every week is inspiring. They encourage each other, and like most pool players, challenge themselves to beat their biggest rival. They have started participating in some tournaments. They are learning the rules for eight ball and nine ball. We are sanctioned in APA for nine-ball. This will enable to kids to participate in ACS, APA, and BEF events. The tournaments are good for them and teach them to enhance their focus as well as meet new people. Although these kids are all relatively new to shooting pool, they have all improved in one way or another. It is exciting to see them put to use the tools we have implemented. We have to thank those parents and pool players that have helped us out along the way. We also thank our sponsor Racks on the Rocks for supporting these kids without question! It has been a learning experience all around, but we have only succeeded by listening and continuing to improve the learning environment. For those interested in joining the league we play every Sunday from 3p.m to 5p.m. The first week is free for the kids to come check it out!
