I am the Director of Tennis for the Village of Wellington, a beautiful 21 court facility in Florida with active programs for players of all age and level. We are fortunate to be in a town that is well supported by both our Village Council, our local Town Management and the Parks and Recreation Department. This was my primary reason for leaving the world of private clubs and resorts after nearly 40

years of success and accolades! I will end my career doing what I love....growing tennis and providing people from all walks of life opportunities to improve and enjoy the game. I have also served as President of the USPTA and their 15,000 members, been president of the USPTA Florida Division, served on the USTA national board of directors, the USTA 10-under committee, USTA adult competition, and currently serve on the board of the USTA Florida section. Sports/Tennis has been my passion since I was a kid, and this page will be all about sports, instruction, and fun!!!!

Serena missed a great moment/opportunity to further enhance her legacy by starting her post match interview with “ first before I say anything I’d like to congratulate Ajla…these must have been tough conditions to play in with the crowd so much in favor of an opponent! I’ve been I that position myself several times in the past. She handled everything so well and played beautifully and tonight was her night on court as she played better” Hell, anyone could have written it for her…..she is the GOAT and we may never see another like her again in our lifetime….but humility has never been her strongpoint….and we all seem to like a humble champion. And that’s not at all critical of Serena, her career and certainly her extraordinary effort at the OPEN. Many say that great champions Need to have a bit of “necessary arrogance” which fuels their confidence that they can beat anyone at any time? IDK, I’m too far behind in winning majors to opine on that topic….LOL
