UPDATES FROM USBC AS IT RELATES TO LEAGUES AND TOURNAMENTS AMID CONCERNS ABOUT COVID 19

On behalf of the Essex County USBC BA, I would like to send my deepest condolences to the Johnson family, with the sudden passing of Rudy Johnson.
As a child, Rudy grew up bowling at Bell Clair lanes on Bloomfield avenue in Montclair. Rudy would spend countless hours perfecting his craft of bowling as well as achieving high accolades on the basketball court, from Nishuane park in Montclair, all the way to the Collegiate level. His determination and persistence on the lanes would later earn him 11 tournament championships, an Induction into the Essex County Hall Of Fame, as well as various record breaking achievements, including shooting a series of 878, which is the highest sanctioned series in Essex County for the 21st century to date, shot at Eagle Rock, on lanes 25-26 in 2005.
Later on in life, Rudy did not bowl nearly as often as he once did, due to a severe medical situation with both of his knees, however he still manged to enjoy the sport he always loved, in the Essex County Police league on monday nights at Eagle Rock with teammates, Missy Brown, Derek Hopson, Al gaines, and Brian McAdams.
Through his journey, Rudy has made a positive impact on many of our lives, and always motivated, and inspired us to be the best people we can be, on and off the lanes, every day we rise; because tomorrow is never promised...

Rest in peace, to an Essex County Legend, and a wonderful human being; Rudolph Johnson🙏

🚨HONOR SCORE ALERT🚨

CONGRATULATIONS to 15 yo Kieryn Knox for shooting 300 in the junior major league at Jersey Lanes this morning. Not to mention this is not only just Kieryn’s second 300 game, but yet his second this month! Great Bowling Kieryn! Congratulations from all of us at Essex County USBC.

On behalf of the Essex County board of Directors; I would like to congratulate Kieryn Knox, For finishing 4th in the NJSSIAA Individual State Tournament at Carolier Lanes yesterday Afternoon, representing West Orange. Kieryn just slid into the first cut, qualifying 14th in the first round with a 651 series. However, he then proceeds capitalize in the second round with a 721 series to earn himself the 4th seed into the stepladder finals. Kieryn then starts off strong in the first match taking the win with a 259 game, he then goes on to loose the second match to finish 4th in the tournament respectively, out of 100 bowlers competing on the day.
Just last week, Kieryn was victorious, at Hanover lanes, with a 1st place finish at the Super Essex Conference County Tournament. Kieryn qualified first seed into the stepladder finals, and then proceeds to bowl his first ever 300 game to win the tournament. Congratulations, once again Kieryn on an overall stellar performance this bowling season.
