Friends of the Trail,

The next monthly meeting of the Westmoreland Yough Trail Chapter board and members will be this coming Monday, June 15, 2026 at the West Newton Visitor Center starting at 7:00 PM. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Membership renewal notices have been sent out. If you renewed your membership, Thank You! If you have not renewed your membership, it's not too late. Just go to the website bikewytc.org and click on Membership at the top of the page. Scroll down to the link to renew using the new online system. You can renew using a credit card or send in a check.

There are many opportunities to help support the WYTC maintenance efforts. All of the following options go directly to benefit the work efforts to maintain the trail.

Donate using a credit card or check using the new system on the WYTC website.
Purchase a brick to honor a loved one, a pet or just to memorialize a cute saying.
Maintaining a current membership.


As always thank you for your ongoing support. Your support helps maintain the trail and makes it something we can all be proud of.

Another triumphant Trail Appreciation Day has come and gone, leaving us beaming with pride. A heartfelt thank you to all the trail users who stopped by to share in the joy and savor some refreshments. Thanks to all the selfless volunteers whose tireless efforts and unwavering dedication make our little section of the Great Allegheny Passage a true gem and something we can all be proud of.

Dear Friends of the Trail,

This coming Sunday, June 7, 2026 is our annual Trail Appreciation Day event.
This event takes place on the trail in front of the West Newton Visitor Center.
The event will be open to the public from 11AM-3PM EST.

Event volunteers are to report around 10AM.
Those donating snacks and cookies may bring them down by 11AM.
Please have cookies wrapped or bagged for safe handling.

This event enables the WYTC to show appreciation to our trail users.
Free food and drinks will be provided to include hotdogs with or without sauerkraut, various snacks, cookies and drinks.

The WYTC will also have a trail side tent for our WYTC merchandise. All sales support trail maintenance.

Thank you all for the things you do to help support the trail.

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY to all our trail users:
This day was set aside to remember with gratitude and pride all those who served and died for our country and our freedoms. May your Memorial Day weekend be filled with thoughts of those who made that ultimate sacrifice for us and peace.
