We were blessed with the most perfect weather for our 33rd Annual WYTC Poker Run today. We want to thank everyone who came out to participate and support the WYTC. We also want to show our appreciation to our hard working volunteers and our great sponsors. We could not of pulled off todays event without you.

Friends of the Trail,



Labor Day Poker Run registration is entering its final days for the 2026 event. This is our major fundraising event for the year to help support the maintenance efforts of our Over the Hill Gang to keep our section of the Great Allegheny Passage in fabulous shape. We have two grand prizes this year, a $250 VISA gift card and a brand new Jamis Explorer bike donated by the West Newton Bicycle Shop.



If you're registering by mail and haven't sent in your registration yet, it's probably too late to mail it now. Final pickup from the Post Office for mail in registrations will be Saturday, Sept. 5. You can still drop off your registration at the West Newton Visitor Center but the last day they'll be accepted is Friday, Sept 4.



If you still want to preregister then you'll need to do that with the online system. The online system won't accept registrations after Friday, Sept. 4 at midnight. The form walks you through the steps to complete your registration. You must pay with a credit card if you decide to go this route. You can either go to the website and scroll down to the link to register online or just click the green button below.



You can no longer qualify for a t-shirt as that option closed on August 15.



You will still be able to register at the event starting at 8:00AM.



Pre-register and skip the walk-in line! Don't miss a chance at the gift cards and the grand prizes!

The Regional Trail Corporation has extended a Great Allegheny Passage segment closure between Duquesne and Homestead indefinitely, pending evaluation from geotechnical engineers. The Great Allegheny Passage Conservancy will continue to arrange and subsidize a daily shuttle service through at least September 30. Starting today, the shuttle will operate from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Join the Westmoreland Yough Trail Chapter’s annual Labor Day Poker Run on September 7 in West Newton!
