The West Newbury Riding & Driving Club (WNRDC) is a group of horse enthusiasts (actively riding/driving and non-riding/driving as well) who seek to preserve and improve riding opportunities in West Newbury, organize riding activities with other members and the general public, and just enjoy relaxed horse-related friendships and social activities. ers do not have to be residents of West Newbury, Massachusetts or active riders. Our mission is to preserve and improve riding opportunities in West Newbury, Massachusetts, organize riding activities with other members and the general public, and just enjoy relaxed horse-related friendships and social activities. We are dedicated to the preservation and maintenance of open trails in its local communities for the purpose of passive recreation and the benefit of the environment. We run horse competitions but most of our members are not competition-oriented. We organize the two horse trials eventing competitions to keep our exceptional facility active and as our only source of income to be able to continue to improve the Pipestave Hill Equestrian Recreation Area and be able to organize other equestrian oriented activities. We are both lucky and unique to have both riding rings and a small cross-country course on town-owned land and we work very hard to preserve and continually improve the facility. Activities during the year usually include:
* Regular meetings, often with a speaker or activity
* Maintenance and improvement of the Pipestave Hill Equestrian area
* West Newbury trail network maintenance, improvement and observation
* Organizing and running the Pipestave Hill Horse Trials Series - two low-level horse trials (combined training) events open to the public
*Adventure Trail discounted to members and volunteers
* Shot & Dental Clinic (at reduced rates for W. Newbury horse residents only)
* Compilation and posting of the Local Equine Activities Calendar (a free publication listing all local equestrian activities, all disciplines included)
* Annual winter pot luck dinner and summer BBQ, and other social gatherings
* Mounted and/or unmounted clinics
* Make substantial donations to W. Newbury service organizations (Police, Fire, Library, Emergency Management, Open Space Committee, etc.) and other local equine organizations (NEER, Windrush Theraputic Riding, MSPCA Nevins Farm, etc.)

We've got THREE exciting events coming up, and there's something for everyone!

🌲 September 13 | Adventure Trail
Grab your friends and hit the trails! Explore woods, fields, water crossings, games, obstacles, spooky surprises, and more. Costumes, team names, and painted ponies are always encouraged! A fun, non-competitive day for riders of all ages and experience levels.

🏇 October 3 | Open XC Schooling Day
Get out on our flagged and decorated cross-country course and school before the big event! A great opportunity to see the course, build confidence, and get ready for competition.

🏆 October 4 | Pipestave Hill Horse Trials
It's competition day! Offering three-phase, two-phase, dressage-only, and stadium schooling divisions from Grasshopper through Modified Novice. Plus, our Beginner Novice XC course will feature an exciting NEW route!

Whether you're looking for a fun day on the trails, a chance to school, or your next competition, we hope to see you this fall!

Thank you for a wonderful summer of jumper shows. We sincerely love seeing you all out there and appreciate the community you are all helping to create, and we can't wait to do it again next season!

We do still have a couple of events in our 2026 calendar! Keep an eye out for more information about Adventure Trail scheduled for September 13, and of course our schooling horse trials October 4!

What a fantastic evening with minimal rain! There was a photographer at ring 2 and photos will be posted on our page by next week.
