Below is Holly’s journey in her own words…thank you for giving us the honor to be part of your success!!
Posting this is way outside my comfort zone but here goes.
I've lost 100 pounds.
I'm equally proud that I did and horrified that I needed to. I'm not at my final goal yet but sometimes you have to say something outloud to make it real. No surgery, meds or name brand diet. There's nothing wrong with those things, it's just not what I did.
I had lost some counting calories - though I wasn't paying attention to what those calories were. Exercise was half-assed at best. It was slow. I kept getting stuck and kept going backwards. Over the summer I gave up entirely and regained 15 pounds in about 5 minutes.
If you want something different, you have to do something different.
I decided to check out a gym. What actually happened was I drove over and immediately drove away, 3 times.
The 4th time I went in.
After talking with Ronnie and Anna for a few minutes, I knew this was going to be way over my head and apologized for wasting their time.
Anna managed to talk me off the ledge and didn't let me run away.
10/2/21 I had my first training session. It was humbling how horribly out of shape I was. I wanted to cancel the next session but didn't. The second time wasn't so bad. A few more sessions, I started thinking maybe…maybe I could do this. Five months later, yes, I'm doing this. Every morning.
I'm not sure why at 53, I was finally able to get my head around this and get it done. It feels great, physically and mentally. It has allowed me to get back to working as a pastry chef. This time last year, there's no way I would have been able to be on my feet in the kitchen all day. I had no idea how much I missed it until I started baking again.
I can't say every day has been easy. There are plenty of mornings I sit on the bed staring at my sneakers thinking "Absolutely not"
Then I put them on and go.
The encouragement and expertise from Anna and Ronnie has been invaluable. I am certain I wouldn't have gotten this far without it. They taught me how to eat in a way that makes sense. My body fat has dropped by over 17%. And even though he's not my trainer, Ty brings sunshine to the Monday morning workouts.
