The Morgan County Wellness Center will be closed on Monday, September 7, in observance of Labor Day.

All Morgan County government offices and services, including the Transfer Station and Wellness Center, will be closed on Monday, September 7, 2026, in observance of Labor Day.

Morgan County native, artist, musician, and photographer Kopana Terry is having a photography exhibit at the Morgan County Wellness and Youth Center through August 28. The work of 12 digital prints and three traditional silver nitrate prints focuses on Central Appalachia. Most of the images are drawn from Terry's recent and ongoing documentary work in Eastern Kentucky. Several of the images in the exhibit were created in Morgan County, including those of Morgan County citizens. Terry's documentary-style images capture the beauty of the region and its people, from everyday life to serene landscapes, without pandering to stereotypes that so often draw negative attention to the area. When she's not in the field with her camera, Terry is the Oral History Archivist for the Louie B. Nunn Center for Oral History and Curator of Newspapers for Special Collections at the University of Kentucky Libraries. An Artist's Reception with Terry will be held on July 23 from 5 pm to 7 pm at the Wellness Center. It is free and open to the public.

Holiday Office Closure Notice

In observance of Independence Day and the 250th anniversary of our nation’s founding, Morgan County offices and services will be closed on Friday, July 3, 2026.

The Morgan County Wellness Center and the Transfer Station will remain open Friday, July 3, but will be closed Saturday, July 4.

We wish everyone a safe and happy Independence Day as we celebrate 250 years of America’s history.

🎳 BUSINESS BOWLING LEAGUE COMING SOON 🎳

The Morgan County Wellness Center is looking for local businesses and organizations interested in forming bowling teams for a community bowling league!

This is a great opportunity for:
• Team building
• Friendly competition
• Employee appreciation
• Community involvement

Each business can create its own team and compete throughout the season. We would like to have at least 4 local businesses or organizations participate in the league.

At the end of league play, we plan to host:
🏆 An individual tournament
🏆 A business team championship tournament

Whether your staff bowls every week or just wants to have fun together, we encourage everyone to participate.

💲 Cost: $10.00 per person

The Morgan County Judge Executive's Office, Transfer Station, and Wellness Center will be closed Monday, May 25 in observance of Memorial Day.

All offices and services will resume normal operating hours Tuesday, May 26.

Please join us for an artist reception at the Morgan County Wellness and Youth Center Thursday, May 14, 2026, 5:00pm - 7:00pm. This exhibit features art created by Jenny Bell, Sylvia Carter, Chris Ferguson, Ron Gevedon, Jeff George, Phil Harmon, Lacy Hale, Debi Horton, Anna Martin, Pam Oldfield Meade, Christy Smith, Kopana Terry and Catherine Wells.
This exhibit will be on view until the end of June.
