Best in the biz! We are lucky to have her work with our athletes!
🏃♀️ March is !
Today we’re spotlighting: Jennifer Walters Smith, MA, LAT, ATC, CEAS I
Lead Athletic Trainer | Franciscan Sports Medicine – Seeger Memorial Junior - Senior High School
Q: What led you to become an athletic trainer at the high school level?
A: “I've been involved with athletic training at the high school level, at some capacity, since 2011. Building relationships with the student-athletes and school community has always been my reason for migrating back into that setting. This time around, I was given the opportunity to serve my hometown community at Seeger High School.”
Q: What does a typical day look like as a high school athletic trainer?
A: “Each day can look a little different. When outdoor sports are in full swing, I try to arrive at the school around 1-1:30 to prep for the day."
Q: What’s the most rewarding part of working with student-athletes?
A: “Helping student-athletes return to what they enjoy has always been rewarding. Whether that is providing care from the initial onset to their full return to activity or helping them find the right care.”
👏 Thank you, Jen, for the care and dedication you bring to student-athletes every day!
