Introducing a New Race or Chase!

Catch Me If You Can Run - July 27, 2024 (Just put online yesterday. This is why you have not heard about it)

Maybe we should not call it a race but a chase. I have been kicking around a crazy fun running idea for a while now and it is finally going to happen. On July 27, 2024 we are doing a Chase around Salt Lake County area (Cannot leave Salt Lake County). Grab your team of 4 runners to chase after my crazy son dressed as a Chicken. The winning team will be awarded $1000 and a 12 month 4 season passes to On Hill Events. Each team will be given a UTA Day Pass good for any bus, trax or Front Runner. The race starts at 8:00 AM with the Chicken Egging your team on over Marco Polo application on your smartphone and giving you a clue as to where he is. Later a new GPS and clue is given. Each interval of the clues will happen more often. 45 Mins(8:45 AM), 30 Mins(9:15 AM), 20 Mins(9:35 AM), 15 Mins(9:50 AM), then at 10:00 AM the true race is on where chasers will be given the Chickens live GPS tracking info. This means you can see where he is and where he is going in real-time. Remember the team that catches him first will be given $1000 and a 12-month 4 season passes to On Hill Events. Rules are you must have a smart phone with plenty of data to send in views of your team's fun highs and lows. No getting outside help outside of your team, follow the rules of the road like no Jay Walking. No, getting rides outside of the UTA-supported rides. This should be a blast and will be made into a video and put on YouTube. However, it is not necessarily a race because your distance will be shorter if you are smart and follow clues well. They will be fairly easy but some challenges to them. We are limited to 100 teams due to the technology and apps we will be using to support the race so do not wait to register. By Noon the race will be over one way or another. We will make it easier and easier until everyone has caught him. The final location will be at a park where we will have fun and awards. $50 Race Credit for volunteering for Great afternoon race this weekend in Ogden. The Jurassic Run 5K is an easy one to help with. Close in a city, afternoon (so sleep in), only a 5K so short time needed and dinosaurs all around. This is a great way to earn your Lucky13 credits with your family. Tell your buddies. Today I am grateful for the running/triathlon community. For the most part these people the salt of the earth. This year has been a year of extremes with forced cancellations, extreme storms like at Bear Lake Brawl Triathlon and other challenges. Through it all most these racers have been patient and understanding of the challenges. I have had racers donate their race fees when cancellations occurred and others who donated their time to help ship post race awards (covid friendly) to get them out. Though this year has been one of the busiest and hardest financially, racers have made it worth while with their love and patience. Thank you for being a part of 2020 with us!!! Antelope Island Marathon is happening this Saturday and we are in need of more volunteers. Due to the shortness of the time prior to the race we will double credit you for your help. We need to shifts 6AM to 11AM and 9AM to 2PM. We will give you either two $50 credits or one $100 credit towards a future race. Remember you can give these credits to anyone and Christmas is coming!!!

The Antelope Island Marathon - 26.2 - 13.1 - 10K - 5K is on Saturday October 10, 2020. It includes the following events: 5K, 10K, Half Marathon, and Full Marathon.

Pass it on promo included

Yesterday I ran 12 miles down Big Cottonwood Canyon. Two reasons I did this was to train for a Marathon I am doing May 18. The other reason was to run on courses I do races on. I have started training again and running again around January. The last time I really ran a long distance was 3 years ago....
