Tomorrow is my last day of training a very special client daily for 30 days 🔥💪🏼

I loved every moment of it and we made soooo much progress (or gains as y’all like to say…)

In church this morning Pastor Julian cont. his series called Battles n Blessings and it was so good 🔥

There were a lot of takeaways but something that really hit me was when he talked about our priorities vs God’s priorities … ‘are we letting our priorities destroy our prophecies…’ 🤯

My auntmom would always tell me “life is all about priorities Shannon” & now I know she was right…but these days I’m just making sure they’re God’s priorities 🙏🏼

This SHOULD be a fitness post …
But what’s on my mind is something my best friend reminded me of that she said I once told her-

When I find myself walking by or through an uncomfortable situation as a female, say a construction site, I have learned to make eye contact first and to just smile and say a polite hello. It humanizes me, and I swear stops any catcalls or inappropriateness that was about to come my way…

Or…when I’m hiking, I try to make eye contact and say hello.

Or…when I am at a social function I try to talk to people and be genuinely interested & give real effort to connect.

It’s not always easy, and it’s LA lol, so it’s not always well received 😆 But!…All we can control is our effort and energy, not anyone else’s 🤍👊🏼

My sister and I decided to sneak away to the Amalfi Coast for a week, and it was pure magic. I made the conscious decision to take the week off of exercising but to still stick to my new morning routine. Imagine being so authentically yourself that everyone around you feels safe to be themselves too ☺️

Authenticity is the daily practice of letting go of who we think we’re supposed to be and embracing who we truly are ✌🏼…But, how do you discover who you really truly are!?

This past year I feel like I’ve fully stepped into my true self - I feel peaceful, strong, patient, inspired, clear, calm and loving. But it took work and time to get here 🙏🏼

I go to therapy 1x a week, have incredible friends and family who I spend time with and talk to often, I have a church I attend and a pastor I trust, I started meditating regularly, I believe in self care / recovery, I exercise and eat healthy, I’ve said yes to more travel than ever, and I also attended what I called “therapy bootcamp”…a week of intensive therapy in Arizona. It was the BEST decision I ever made and I promise you it changed my life!

Now I have a defined, clear vision on who I want to be and what I want out of this life…It hasn’t been easy, but it’s so worth it. I highly recommend taking the time to prioritize your own mental health like I have this last year.

Listen, I’ve been a trainer for a long time, a model for even longer, and I’ve been blessed to have lived a life exposing me to many different types of people - including many celebrities & influencers…

So hear me when I say EV • VER • RY • ONE has insecurities. Everyone. Even the ones you wish you could be like, or look like…I promise you. I’ve witnessed it first hand 🤯

Our minds are powerful though, you have the ability to make sure you’re talkin’ to yourself real nice like 😍 Talk to yourself the same way you would talk to your best friend…Talk to yourself the same way God would talk to you…be kind, be real, be gentle, and make the most out of the healthy body you were given.

Because you know what’s the sexiest thing anyways 😋😋😋 —> confidence
