One of the highlights of my week was welcoming Troop 802 from West Haven to Savin Rock Athletics to work on their Athleticism Merit Badge.

As an Eagle Scout myself, this one meant a little more. The lessons I learned through Scouting—leadership, discipline, service, and perseverance—have had a lasting impact on my life and helped shape who I am today.

We spent the afternoon discussing nutrition, sportsmanship, healthy habits, training, recovery, and what it means to be an athlete both on and off the field.

I was also blown away by how many resources Scouts have access to today. Merit badge materials, videos, and educational content are now right at their fingertips, making it easier than ever to continue learning outside of troop meetings.

Thank you to Troop 802 for spending part of your day with us. It was an honor to help these Scouts take another step forward on their journey.
