Here is your Tempo cheat sheet!

Utilizing tempo for certain exercises is a great way to dial-in position or work on “weak points” on a certain lift.

There are an infinite ways to utilize different tempos within your training.

Bonus tip: You’d be surprised how much better your knees feel going through a few weeks of eccentrics on your squats! 🍑

We encourage our patients to stay active within their sport and training, while allowing the affected tissue to heal.

We commonly refer to the “Stoplight of Pain” no matter what phase of recovery each patient is in.

The Stoplight serves as a guide to allow patients to remain confident and comfortable while continuing to practice specific techniques, drills or determine playtime during the rehab process.

Me: Well, we only did three working sets. The first three sets were just warm up sets.

Working sets need to be challenging enough to elicit the response or adaptation we are chasing.

In the above example, they are able to squat 200 x 5. Their warmup sets may look like this.

Empty Bar x 12-15
95-115 x 8
135-155 x 8

Then working sets will start. This is a very vague example but hopefully it makes sense.

Have you ever heard someone say “going to the gym is my therapy?”

Me too.

While the gym can be a great place to release some stress, get some frustration out etc., it is not therapy. Therapy is therapy, and if you are struggling with your mental health, a great work out WILL NOT get to the route cause/issue or solve your problems.

Not sure about you but my feed is bombarded with people trying to “healthify” all of their foods.

Listen, I’m all for experimenting with recipes if you’d like to make them a bit more healthy for YOU and YOUR goals BUT chances are if you do this with all of your foods you most likely think of foods as good or bad.

There are no good or bad foods. Food is just food.

Remember, energy balance is king!
