Dear former and current female student-athletes at Conard and Hall.
You are a very special part of history! We (your coaches) enthusiastically invite you to
be part of, or contribute to, the 50th Anniversary of the founding of female sports at
Conard and Hall (Spring 1972) and the 50th Anniversary of Title IX (June 1972). This
celebration/recognition will have two parts and needs a wide representation of input/
perspectives/experiences and networking and contributions to be a success..

Part I: We are putting together a Historical Document outlining the establishment and
growth of female sports at Conard and Hall over fifty years. This bound book will
provide a comprehensive history and outline the chronology of the introduction of each
sport. While there will be an initial emphasis on the 1970's as the transformative
decade for female sports at Conard and Hall, it will also include all subsequent
decades to the present, with statistics on seasons, captains, coaches, league and
state tournaments, as well as stories and pictures. The best part will be your voices
and perspectives to bring this document to life by telling your stories throughout these
fifty years. Your reflections will be an integral part of this historical document.
1. Please include information on you: name, school, year of graduation, sports
played and what career choice/trajectory you followed.

When writing your reflections, the prompts below are only suggestions; you need
not address all the prompts. Your reflection may range from a paragraph to a page.
If you are a multi-sport athlete, please feel free to focus your reflection on only one
sport. Reflection: What would you like to share/what would you like the reader to
know about your experiences in sports during this time in history? Prompts: I
decided to play sports in high school because...I got the support to play
from.....opportunities growing up in town/family/coaches……did you feel any
limits?...I'm glad I played high school sports because challenges/
rewards....playing high school sports impacted my life (then) by.…playing high
school sports influenced my career choices/trajectory (then and now) and taught
me the following lessons I use now...one of my most valuable experiences/best
memory is……other
