About our IDPA Matches

We started in 2013 have IDPA competitions after hosting Cowboy Action for many years. This is done on the fourth Saturday of the month April through September. We still do Cowboy Action on the second Saturday of the month. More people would have a chance to shoot their other guns (other than cowboy).
2. To hone their defensive pistol skills.
3. To have fun(maybe that is th

e most important)
We were able to start this because of a grant that was provided by the NRA. We have built targets and props with the money from that grant. Another grant has been applied for to help Eatonbrook Rod and Gun Club with building of two pistol bays. The matches usually consist of 4 courses of fire (COF) or scenarios plus what is called a bug gun COF. Most matches have about 50-65 scored rounds. COF that we do, are mostly based on a real life defensive situations, some drawn right out of the newspaper, seldom do we have a point and shoot style COF. (called a standard). They range from fairly simple to some worthy of maybe a state competition. That way everybody can have a good time. Prizes are not given out that way it eliminates the cutthroat mentality that some people get, also keeps the costs lower. Unless you want to call bragging rights a prize. If you have never shot like this we have several experienced shooters that are more than happy to help, also if you are a newbie we will put a mentor with you to help you along and get acquainted with what is happening. Cost is cheap $10.00 this is for target and prop building and replacement. Depending on number of shooters if you want to shoot two different pistols you are more than welcome, if there are allot of shooters we may not let you, this is so that the match would run faster. Setup and registration for the matches is around 9-10am some of us get there earlier. Safety meeting is at 10am most match have been done around 12-1 of course this will depend on numbers for the day. Bring your own refreshments no alcohol of course. We will try to have water but sometimes we forget. Bathrooms are available inside the club house.

Weather who knows anymore.
Hello Everyone, Bar-20 Shooters would like to remind people of the Saturday, May 30th IDPA/Defensive Pistol match. This is at the Eatonbrook Rod and Gun Club, West Wilcox Road, West Eaton NY. There will be 4 stages set up (around 50-60rounds). We have found this to be best suited to the room we have. Final Setup is Saturday morning May 30th starting between 8:30 AM & 9:00 AM, Shooting starts at 10 with a safety meeting approx 5-10 min before 10. We encourage people to get there early and help set up.(any new shooters should get there a little early and we can go over IDPA procedures) Also would like to remind shooters this is a cold range, this means your gun may only be handled in the designated safe area and at your own vehicle and must remain unloaded at all times. Registration is $10.00 and there will be a table at the berm. We will not be doing any lunch so bring your own snack and/or WATER,soda. No alcohol of course.

If there should be a cancellation I will send an email out on Thursday before shoot.

Even if you do not shoot, stop and see if you would be interested and don't worry if you have never done it. Just come on down and we will help. We are a very shooter friendly club.
