Rivalries are heating up again at the Quad State Pickleball Challenge — and after last year’s dramatic tiebreaker finale, every point will matter. 👀

On May 16th, SVPC welcomes back 18 of the top players from Vermont, New Hampshire, upstate New York, and western Massachusetts for a day of great competition — all supporting research for MEF2C, a rare degenerative disease affecting children that currently has no cure. ❤️

Last year, Vermont edged out New Hampshire in a thrilling tiebreaker final. This year, the stakes — and the competition — are even bigger. 🔥

We’re also looking for volunteers to help make the tournament run smoothly. If you’d like to get involved, contact [email protected].

Come out for exciting matches, raffles, silent auctions, delicious food, and a great cause. Lunch will be available for $15. All are welcome!

Have you ever played padel? 🏓 The Brook Bound Inn is home to the first padel court in the state of Vermont!

Meet Whitney Kraft, racquets director, and Jake Moore, owner, as they introduce the courts and the Inn.

If you have guests coming to town and you need a little extra room, the Brook Bound Inn is very well appointed and your guests will be comfortable playing padel and swimming in the gorgeous pool.

All SVPC members get to try out padel for free, and can receive 15% off any membership at the Brook Bound Inn. Talk to Trip Morse at (802) 275-2321.

A message from Trip:

Hello SVPC members & potential members,

I cannot be happier to announce we will indeed be ready to open this Saturday, April 18th. The weather looks great, we have received everything we needed from our vendors to improve the facility. I have staff to help me organize a really nice day for play at the club.

From 8:30 till noon we will have organized open play and meet and greet. At 1PM I'm inviting all brand new pickleballers to come and take a free INTRO TO PICKLEBALL clinic and play afterwards.

I'm only using 4 courts for that so there will be 4 courts available for those that want to come out in the afternoon.

I'm looking forward to a great 2026 season and please reach out to me with any questions, suggestions, or concerns.

BRING THIS TO THE COURT: You don’t need to be perfect—but you do need to be decent human. Court vibes go south when people start skipping rotations, calling balls out to win points, or delivering unsolicited coaching like they’re auditioning for ESPN.

Pickleball’s fun because people want to be there. The energy matters.

Here’s how to keep it chill:

📢 Call the score clearly—every time. Trust us, it helps.
🙋 Wait your turn during open play. We saw you “just hopping in.”
🤝 Own your faults. Integrity > ego.
🧠 Play with all skill levels. You were new once, too.
👏 Celebrate effort, not just wins. Good hustle deserves hype.
🫶 Invite someone in. A simple “Wanna jump in next game?” can make someone’s day.

In just 6 short weeks, YOU can LEARN TO PLAY play pickleball with friends!!

Pickleball is social. You’re outdoors. You’re getting exercise. You’re improving your balance, your agility, and your cardio respiratory endurance.

Each week, we will focus on a different stroke and/or strategy. Sessions are Mondays & Wednesdays at 5:30 pm OR Tuesdays & Thursdays at 9:30 am. WE START MONDAY, JUNE 23rd!!!
