2024 has been a strange year for Chaingang racing. For me personally this is the least amount of biking since 2015 and I won’t lie. I’m butt hurt seeing all the finals posts, A race I was always excited for. The great loss of a good friend and a good teammate Scott Huntley really was just a whirl wind of emotions for every one. With darkness around the team we try to make some bright light. That’s some thing I’m truly excited to share with every one. I went out to Huntleys celebration of life and got to chat with his farther to discuss how I can help financially with the money that we raised within the community. He said what was most important is that his son is remembered and working on his memorial for Scott. So with the help from and we have came up with “Scott Hurricane Huntley Racing Scholarship”. We took a lot of time and thought into this and consider all options that we had. Some thing I’m personally proud to be a part of, a great loss turned into an opportunity for one person. The 3 of us all threw around names and ideas, I even reached out to a select few within the community for some votes. The person selected I feel is the best candidate, I think for his age we all should admire his constant dedication, drive, character, and just overall a good person. I KNOW Huntley had a spot in his heart for this guy and really I don’t know who doesn’t. With great excitement I’d like to award .l.downing the Hurricane scholarship. We are hoping to see this boy finally get a chance to head to a World Cup without worrying about saving every single penny. I’m rooting for you, the team is rooting for you, the community roots for you and of course Scott Huntley will be rooting for you.
