Directly from the source: the best way to view the park is from the water.

Congaree National Park
Ask any ranger or volunteer and they'll tell you - one of the best ways to experience Congaree, any time of year, is by paddling Cedar Creek. 🛶
Slow-moving and meandering, the creek is a great place to immerse yourself in wilderness and see some of the park's towering hardwoods and pines. It's also a great place to see wildlife in the park:
🦉Birds such as owls, woodpeckers, belted kingfishers, egrets
🐢Reptiles including turtles, snakes, and the occasional alligator
🦫 Mammals like beavers, otters, deer, squirrels, and raccoons
There's always something to see! Interested in checking it out? Trip ideas can be found on the park's website under Canoe and Kayak Adventures. This page also provides links to local outfitters for tours and rentals.
