Larry will be greatly missed!

Larry Lee Gapen, 80, was born March 24th, 1945 to Melvin and Madge Glandon Gapen in Burlington, IA. He left this world to live in eternity with our Lord November 29th surrounded with love. He lived many places growing up but eventually called Stronghurst, IL his home. He was married

Sixteen-year-old Ian Steward is set to pilot a familiar 305 sprint car in 2025 at 34 Raceway. Big River Resources, LLC has agreed to a primary sponsorship along with Kris Hill Concrete. The car will be painted by Collision Center West Burlington with a wrap by RockStar Wraps. The classic HEARTLAND HARLEY-DAVIDSON Orange/Black will be a tribute to the late Bob Knoll. Bob was a longtime car owner of Donnie Steward's , where they earned two track championships and numerous feature wins together. Also joining the newly formed sprint car team are J&R Farms and ZD Rentals. Longtime supporters also on board are Andco Engineering, West Burlington Hydraulic & Supplies, and Midland Performance Inc. The power plant will be built by Kirchner Machine from Donnelson, IA. Crew chief duties will be handled by Justin Hamelton (Chewy). Ian is very excited to get a chance to race a sprint car and is looking forward to gaining valuable experience each week while supporting a local racetrack. Our racing is done for chili bowl 2025. DNF on the last lap of the p main. Although we didn’t have good luck it was a fun week. Appreciate everyone for all of the support all week long.

We found an issue with the fuel system so will fire it up and as of right now we will try again on Saturday!

Welp, Not a good night tonight. Thats racing sometimes. The v6 motor just doesn’t have much hp currently, which is a shame because the car handles really good. We will look at everything & evaluate tomorrow and go from there. There was lots of fuel mixed in the oil so it was definitely too rich, but will have to look at everything else because it also had a vibration going on too.

Pulled in after feeling a vibration. Motor lost power each time out. Checking a few things out now. Only turned 6400 rpms. Got some alcohol in the oil too…
