The 3 Common Mistakes Beginners make in Kickboxing Classes:
❌Dropping Guard (Hands)
* Mistake: leaving the face unprotected while punching with the other hand, or lowering hands when kicking.
✅* Fix: Keep your hands “glued” to your temples or chin. When throwing a punch, the non-punching hand must stay up to guard your face.
❌Not Pivoting the Lead Foot
* Mistake: Failing to rotate the hips and pivot the supporting foot on roundhouse kicks, which kills power and hurts your knee.
✅* Fix: Pivot your standing foot—turning your toes away from the target—when kicking, essentially rotating 180 degrees to open your hips.
❌Ignoring Technique for Power
* Mistake: Trying to hit the bag as hard as possible immediately, which causes sloppy, un-compact, and dangerous technique.
✅* Fix: Start slow. Focus on good body mechanics and landing with the correct part of the shin or foot, fully extending arms and protecting the face.
Hope these helped next time you take a class🥊🔥
