Meet our September Member of the Month!!⭐️⭐️
Berger Steinert has been dedicated and consistent- and it definitely shows!
We are very proud and looking forward to watching her continue to get better😊
This is what she has to say-
For over two years I dealt with frozen shoulder in both arms. If you have never had it, it takes away more than you would think. Simple daily tasks became hard, and anything involving weights or a workout was off the table completely. I also had constant pain on the right side of my neck, and I assumed it was all part of the shoulder problem.
As my shoulders finally started to unthaw, I knew it was time to take care of myself again. I had gained weight, and my cholesterol was starting to creep out of the normal range. As a type 1 diabetic, that made my overall health even more of a priority now that I was finally able to do something about it. I also hoped getting moving again would help my shoulders keep recovering.
I tried many places first: different classes, different routines, different locations. I left every one of them for various reasons, and the biggest one was that I never felt like I fit in.
Then I saw ads for A1 and decided to give it a try. It felt completely different from the moment I walked in the door, and that comfort gave me the drive to push even while I was still in pain. I could not do everything the way everyone else could, and there were days I felt like a failure because of it. The members and the coaches never let me stay in that headspace.
When the pain persisted, I moved to just personal training so my workouts could be modified for what my body actually needed. Tammy has done that beautifully and has kept me on track.
Since starting at A1 I have gotten stronger in many areas and lost over 15 pounds. I have way more energy, and family and friends have noticed, which has been a huge confidence booster.
Even with those results, my pain was not letting up. Alongside working out, I kept pushing for answers, and I found out I have a c-spine issue that may end in surgery if the other therapies don't pan out. Tammy and the staff have been awesome about helping me adjust to this setback with my best self at heart, because I have never looked or felt this good. My cholesterol has also dropped significantly, and I give all the credit for that to A1 and the guidance I have gotten here.
I told them straight out that I don't want to give up, because coming back is the hard part and I need to be held accountable even when roadblocks happen. I am looking forward to healing up, getting released, and working out with my family again.
