Attention Students -
We’ve been monitoring the current situation involving COVID-19 very closely. As the safety of our students, staff, and family is very important to us, we’ve decided to shut down regular training for the next two weeks, with plans to reevaluate after that. During that time Four Winds will be thoroughly disinfected. This situation is a bit scary, especially considering several of our students and staff are of advanced age, many of our children get dropped off/picked up by their grandparents, some students have asthma, blood pressure or other health issues, and several students/family members are first responders.
As many of you know, we have many close friends and business partners in Italy who we’ve been in contact with, and their words about where this could head if not taken seriously are far from reassuring. Their businesses have been forcefully shut down and they’re currently confined to their homes. Leaving without authorization means they risk fines or imprisonment.
We didn't come to this decision lightly, but we’ve got people even in our own family that are considered high risk, so here we are.
As with many other small business owners, we're a bit concerned with how this will affect us, both during and after, but safety comes first.
We're currently researching other methods to help our students continue to improve in their training, including possibly offering online classes. We're hoping to roll out more detailed information in the next few days, but our current plans include online learning options, workout programs, and even homework and games for the kids to complete with opportunities to win prizes when they return.
Our hope is that this won't last too long, but in the chance that it does, we will add time to your current membership to make up for missed classes. Depending on the duration, we may offer a small number of private lessons as a bonus to get everyone back up to speed, or possibly even free seminars.
Our Kids Testing scheduled for April 10 will likely be postponed, but more details will follow the closer we get to the date.
For those of you planning to compete in Florida in July, we're hoping to have more information for you in the coming weeks regarding the status of the tournament. We're finding out our options this week, but we also have to wait and see what happens with the rest of the world and their ability to travel.
We thank you for your patience and understanding. Spend time with your families, take advantage of whatever training options we're able to provide for you, and wash your hands! If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact us.
