The Wisconsin Section is one of the 41 sections that comprise the regional entities of the PGA of America. Over 500 members and apprentices belong to the Wisconsin Section stretching from areas in the Upper-Peninsula of Michigan to almost the entire state of Wisconsin. Annually the Wisconsin Section conducts over 40 professional events, operates it's Junior Golf Foundation and participates in several growth of the game activities (Play Golf America Days, Golf Shows and instructional clinics).

Matt Toomey of Kettle Hills Golf Course is the latest Wisconsin PGA associate to earn their Class A PGA membership.

A big congrats to Matt on finishing up the PGA PGM Program and being elected earlier this week.

Matt has been on staff at Kettle Hills GC for the past five seasons as an assistant golf professional. Prior to his current role, he spent time at Silver Spring GC and GOLFTEC.

⛳️ A Little Home Cooking Helps Propel Bishops Bay Country Club Team To The Win! 🏆

Congratulations to John Shipshock, PJ Murphy, Calvin Kruschek, and Larry Paul for winning the National Golf Graphics, LLC Pro-Am on Monday. The home-club foursome dominated their closing nine holes of the 29-team Stableford event, racking up 157 points and 14 gross birdies to win by six points and secure a spot in the season-ending Oliphant Golf Management Pro-Am Championship.

Tournament Highlights:

Amateur MVP: Larry Paul led the champions with a field-high 55 points, featuring a terrific back-nine.

Low Professionals: Barrett Kelpin claimed the title, firing an 8-under-par 64 (53 points) with five birdies and an eagle over a seven-hole stretch. While Michael Crowley topped the senior division with 44 points.

Championship Bound: The second and third-place teams, led by John Knoll and Josh Grisa, also qualified for the championship.

🏆 Tournament Recap: Wisconsin PGA Assistant Professional Spring Classic 🏆

What a beautiful day for golf at Oakwood Park Golf Course! Under ideal conditions, 31 PGA associates and members teed it up for the second assistant event of the season on Friday.

Huge congratulations to David Bach of Whistling Straits for taking home the title with an impressive 4-under-par 68! 🥇 Bach got off a fast start on the front nine and held off a fierce challenge from runners-up Tim McCormick and Chris Zachman to secure the win and jump to the top of the Assistant Player of the Year standings.

A big thank you to our host, Oakwood Park Golf Course, for efforts with hosting the event. ⛳️

We also want to extend our sincere appreciation to our event partners for their contributions. Thank you for your continued support!

🏆 CHAMPIONS AGAIN!

Twenty-Six foursomes took to the Highland and Woodland courses at the River Club Of Mequon on Tuesday for the WPGA Spring Pro-Ladies. The sold-out field enjoyed perfect spring weather and pristine course conditions.

Big congratulations to Kurt Mantyla (Naga-Waukee GC) and his stellar team of Sami Mantyla, Karen Schmid, and Jill Trider for capturing the title with a solid 17-under-par team score. It marked the third time since 2020 that the four players have been on a pro-ladies winning squad.

Team Effort: The ladies on the winning squad combined for an solid 9 net birdies and 3 net eagles. 🦅

Pro Sweep: Kurt Mantyla swept both the Low Professional and Low Senior Professional Stableford contests with 42 points, firing a terrific 6-under-par 66 (including 8 birdies)!

A big thank you to the River Club Of Mequon and their staff for hosting such a great event, and to our generous partners, Wilson Golf and Tito's Vodka, for their continued support of the Wisconsin PGA! 🍾🏌️‍♀️

ICYMI - Brother duo Max and Mason Schmidtke tackled the strong winds and dropping temperatures at The Legend at Merrill Hills to claim the 18th edition of The Legend Challenge — Two Person Scratch Pro-Am on Tuesday! 💨

The Gridlock: A sold-out field of 56 teams saw 5 duos finish regulation deadlocked at 4-under-par 68.

The Playoff: On the first extra hole, after Grisa nearly holed out for eagle by hitting the flagstick, Mason Schmidtke and Dustin Schwab both hit clutch approaches to 3 feet, sending each of the three teams on to the next playoff hole after making birdie.

The Clincher: On the second playoff hole, Max Schmidtke stepped up and drained a 14-foot birdie putt to seal the title alongside his brother Mason.

What a great day at Oneida Golf & Country Club. Twenty-Nine Wisconsin PGA professionals and their amateur partners enjoyed ideal spring weather and the always fun "Double Dip" pro-am format on Monday.

🏆 Four-Player Division Champs: Congrats to Tim Pridemore of Washington County Golf Course, Tim Halverson, Dave Halverson, and Craig Podlesnik on their victory with a 20-under-par 124 in the two net better ball.

🤝 2-Player Contest Tie: Ryan Helminen & Matt Butch tied with Pridemore & Tim Halverson for the top spot in the one-of-two contest, carding a 9-under-par 63.

🔥 Pro Sweep: Michael Crowley put on a show, sweeping both the low pro and low senior pro divisions with 41 Stableford points (including 7 birdies).

A big congrats to Nate Myszkowski of TPC Wisconsin on earning his Class A PGA membership earlier this month.

Nate came on board at TPC Wisconsin earlier this year after moving to Wisconsin last summer.

Previous stops include instructional positions at multiple Leadbetter Golf Academies and as the head professional at Southern Dunes Golf & Country Club in Northern Florida.

We are down to the Final 8! 🏌️‍♂️

The Vortex Golf WPGA Match Play Championship supported by Harris Golf Cars, Ahead USA, Oakley, and the PGA TOUR wrapped up its opening rounds at The Club at Strawberry Creek earlier this week.

Davis Jensen of North Shore Country Club is still in the hunt to defend his title and David Roesch of Storm's Golf Range looks to lean on experience with 4 past titles under his belt.

The other remaining six players will try to knock off the past champions in their bid to claim their first title.

Quarterfinal matches will be played on their own and must be completed by June 29. The final four will then get together in July or early August on a mutually agreed upon date to finish off the event. Thanks to The Club at Strawberry Creek for a fantastic venue to kick off our first major of the year and to our event partners for their great support.

On to the Round of 32! ⛳️

The Vortex WPGA Match Play Championship officially took over The Club at Strawberry Creek on Monday. The field battled through a grueling 36-hole grind, contending with biting winds and dipping temperatures all day long.

Medalist Honors: Michael Crowley set the pace, firing a solid 3-under-par 69 in the morning qualifying/seeding round.

Keeping Momentum: Crowley didn’t let up, parlaying that momentum into a victory in his first-round match.

The Favorites Hold: It was a strong day for the seeds, with 24 of the top 32 favorites securing their spots for Day 2.

We’re back at it this morning at 7:30 AM for another double-round.

Who will survive the day and make it into the elite 8? Stay tuned....
