Paper targets that are placed at 30 yards. Typically most shooters use a 12 gauge shotgun. We supply the shells to keep it fair. We do offer .410, 20, or 16 gauge shells as well, however 12's usually produce the best pattern. The target has a cross hair in the center of a 2 inch square. Who ever has the closest pellet to the cross hair wins. Our judge use micrometers to measure if needed. We have
two main rules on the guns. 1st. all 12 gauge chokes must measure .675 or larger. Most extra full or turkey chokes measure around .675 to .695. 2nd. Maximum barrel length is 36 inches (including any external choke). We check all 12 gauges at the line for chokes. Our prizes are mostly meat with some money shoots mixed in. Average cost is around 4 to 5 dollars per chance. 12 chances are sold for every line. Prizes: boneless pork loin, whole hams, boneless hams, 5 lb slabs of bacon, NY strip steaks, ribeyes, turkeys, large rolls of colby cheese, etc. Money shoots: 5 dollar shoot, $5 per chance to win $45, 10 dollar shoot, $10 per chance to win $100, 3 dollar shoot wins $20. We have one guy who sells these chances. He will call out what is for sale and how much. Purchase your ticket. When your line is called you go outside to your designated post. Your gun will be checked. You will receive your shell. Take your shot. When all 12 shooters are done, we have workers who collect the targets and put out the next line. Targets are then taken to the judge. He checks all of them and then declares the winner. We also run a 50/50 raffle $1 a ticket or 6 tickets for $5. We have a lunch stand inside the clubhouse. Hopefully, this answers your questions. I should mention no alcohol on premise. We run a safe enjoyable shoot. The next shoot is Sunday at 1pm.
