Purple Looks Good on Progress

Spenny checked something off his racing wish list today—painting the engine bay! 🏁 He’s always wanted to do this to a race car, and this build finally gave him the chance.

Still plenty of work ahead, but seeing that fresh purple go on makes it pretty exciting! One step closer to getting the #43 back on the track.

Some seasons look more like rebuilding than racing. Plans change. We get knocked down, we make mistakes, and sometimes we have to start over with what feels like a complete mess in front of us.

Racing has a way of teaching you that things don’t always go according to plan. Cars break. Parts fail. Sometimes there’s a whole lot more work waiting in the garage than we ever planned on.

But we rebuild.

Life isn’t much different. Following God doesn’t mean we’ll never fall, make the wrong choice, or get it wrong. It means that when we do fall, we don’t have to stay there. We get back up, trust God with what comes next, and keep going.

Sometimes the season that looks like everything has fallen apart is actually the season where God is putting something back together.

“For though the righteous fall seven times, they rise again, but the wicked stumble when calamity strikes.”
— Proverbs 24:16 NIV

Here’s to getting back up, rebuilding, and getting ready for another green flag. 🏁

Finally got out to evaluate the Ol Prelude today. The spindle is bent, which isn’t a big deal for me since I thankfully had one sitting out there. I’ll have to replace that, the lower ball joint and all four wheel studs on that side. We still have to pull out the lower radiator support and fix as many dents as we can and finally replace the engine ( thankfully the other one is ready to go in as well ). Then the purple prelude will be back, ready to go! I think black just blends in too much. Maybe I won’t get as many dents if she is purple again. Visibility Issues = Emotional Damage 😂
