Our girls showed their dominance in the first two sets against Lisbon on Thursday evening. The girls got a little complacent in the third set. However the Wellsville faithful cheering from the student section showed their school spirit with jarring clapping in rhythm lifting our girls spirit and our girls showed their talent once again. Presley stokes’s dominance was on full display with 26 thunderous attacks, proving why she is a division athlete. Presley also chipped in with 4 aces with a serve that strikes fear into even the most seasoned Defensive specialists. Bella Poppelriter was cooking, her athletic ability was on full display with a quadruple double 10 aces 10 kills 23 assists 12 digs and 4 blocks. Her spot serves are second to none and there really isn’t anything she can’t do. Myleigh Jackson’s move to Libero has made a significant difference she made some key digs that allowed the lady Tigers to keep their momentum at key times throughout the match. Myleigh finished with 8 very important digs and she showed her efficiency serving with four aces. Aleena Owen’s showed her growth and improvement as a freshman giving the lady Tigers 10 digs several very key serve receives and chipped in with three kills. I don’t think enough can be said about her contributions to our team. Every week you can see her improvement and her growth will be vital to our tournament run. Kenzie Bosco’s improvement showed up last night completing 3 attacks and her serving has really picked up steam with three aces. Kenzie also applied block pressure against opposing Lisbon hitters causing some attempts to sail out of bounds. Olivia Edison’s serving showed up big tonight making things difficult on the opposing defense all night, Allowing our lady tigers to keep applying pressure on the Lisbon defense all evening. Maddy Drysdale counties to improve her skill and blocking prowess finishing with three attacks and 2 blocks. All in all and improved performance and one the lady tigers look to build on. The lady tigers are back in action at home against Toronto on Tuesday.
