Congratulations to Hunter Rohr for reeling in this 28.0-inch, 11.84-pound golden rainbow from the Smoke Hole section of the South Branch of the Potomac River in Pendleton County.

We are one good predator hunt from the turkey population exploding. Raccoons, possum, skunk, crows, and Fisher’s rob nests and eat eggs. The birds still tend to thrive.

The great one, Steve Williams putting in the work. Checking access, documenting winter deadfall, replacing batteries and faulty equipment, feeding the hungry and preparing the mountain for a successful spring turkey season! This guy is the real deal when it comes to dedication and lives for the great outdoors.

I had never heard of the Tutelo & Saponi Tribes. I have since learned they were sometimes referred to as Eastern Blackfoot. Wyandot, Mingo, Shawnee and Delaware were among the tribes that hunted in the northern panhandle of the Ohio Valley.
