Alpine Ski Team at the University of Minnesota

Hi Everyone!

After a long but fast season of incredible skiing, our Women's team tied for 2nd at regionals and qualified for nationals, along with Nick Kanitz as the individual qualifier for the Midwest Region! This is the pinnacle of their efforts, competing against varsity programs at other universities and traveling over 2,100 miles for competition. These athletes worked very hard to get to this point, but they need your help to get to Lake Placid in New York!

Hello everyone!

This past weekend the team was up at Spirit Mountain in Duluth, MN competing at the 2020 Lake Superior Divisional race.

The women's team has had a fantastic season this year and it showed at Spirit! The women placed first in giant slalom and second in slalom. There was an overall tie for first place with Madison resulting in a overall second place finish for the women due to place points. Great job, ladies!

The men's team also had a great weekend competing at Spirit! They placed 3rd for giant slalom and second in slalom. They finished in second overall. Great job, guys!

Another very exciting thing this year was that the women's team won the Divisional Championship! The Divisional Championship is a combination of the results from all the season's races. This is the first time in at least five years that we have been able to edge out the other teams and win. Congratulations to our women on a so-far fantastic season!

Next weekend will be the MCSA Regional Race in Marquette, MI where we hope to qualify for nationals. Wish us luck!

Don't forget to come to the 2019-2020 season registration meeting tonight! The meeting is from 6:30-8:00pm in the Mechanical Engineering building room 108. Make sure you bring your phone/computer to register and pay your dues. See you all tonight!

Hello friends and family! The Alpine Ski team has just qualified for the United States College Ski Association National Competition for the 4th year in a row!!!
