I have not posted on here in a very long time. I have to admit that I have not been taking my own advice. I am going to be turning the big 50 very soon. I need to get back to my fitness plan. Anyone want to join me?

Crazy amount of things happening. When I left Iowa, I had planned on working out on the beach, running another marathon, get a great job, lose a few pounds and keep in contact with all my friends. Over a year later, I have not done any of these. That has to change! Starting today!

Back to running today! Just an easy 3 miles but it felt good to get a jog in this morning! Now, to watch what I eat today!

I am going to preface this by saying I am not a runner! My definition of a renter is a person who runs because they like to run. I got into running because my husband enjoys it. He likes to ride, he likes races. He is not running with me now. I am doing this on my own. I am going to run a marathon. I refuse to feel bad if I have to walk part of it. OK I tell myself that, but knowing me I will probably feel bad if I have to walk. The truth of the matter is it is a fact! I will have to walk at some point during the marathon next Sunday! There is a tracker app that will allow my family and friends to keep track of where I at during the marathon. My family was nice enough to say they will hang out at the bar and watch my progress.

Yesterday at 4:30pm, I got the opportunity to instruct a cardio, strength and conditioning class at the Waukee YMCA. It was great! There were 15 participants and everyone of them thanked me and said they really liked the workout! They did such a great job. I know I was a little tough on them but they powered through. What an awesome experience!

Brenda's build a better b***y workout day one! Flow fluidly from one exercise to the other for 30 minutes!
25 bridges
25 rear leg lifts each side
25 squats
25 one leg bridges each side
25 Bulgarian squats each side
25 deadlifts
25 front knee lifts twisting to the side
25 sumo squats
25 donkey kicks each side
25 leg lifts pushing butt up feet towards ceiling
Return to the top and keep going!
Challenge someone to complete it!

I've gotten away from doing my own workouts, runs, and anything else that is for me. I need to refocus! It is time!

This week was testing in one of my classes. I did a little better on each of the exercises. I was really hoping to make big strides in my personal bests. That didn't happen, but I have accepted that it is all a work in progress!

It took me 3 weeks to lose 5 lbs! I was pretty happy! Then I went on vacation for a week and gained 6 lbs. I am going to have to work really hard to shed my vacation weight!
