The 2nd Stop of the Casino Cup Walleye Circuit is in the books for 2025. I know I have never fished Devils Lake when the fish looked that good. We actually had a very good pre fish catching 30-36 lbs a day just trying new spots and not throwing at all of the fish in a spot. Tournament morning we made a last second decision to go the opposite direction of what it appeared the whole 1st flight. We put some 27-28 inchers tobed at about 4 pm Friday. Knowing the weather was gonna change a bit was the wild card. And sure enough we get there derby morning after 2 hours catching nothing but Northerns we knew we had to bail. Now chewing is really Ripping and we have a 40 min boat ride back the other direction. We pull in and and Ryan's first cast is the big fish of the tournament. We get a couple more ofthe right bites in that stretch and end up hitting another 5 or so spots filling up the box, with one slight hiccup. Ryan landed basically a 5 lber hooked deep on a jig and it died within minutes. We still thought we would get more like it but with the winds gusting in the 30s made it challenging. In the end we had to weigh a 2.5 lber instead costing us a couple lbs.
Either way we fi wished in 7thand it appears we are sittIng 2nd for TOY. Congratulations to the winners our buddies team Carl with an impressive bag and a great win!

Another fun event on Lake Oahe with some giant walleyes caught. This one was extra special as my son Jace got to fill in for Marcus for his first tournament and a 5th place finish with a great start for the Team of the Year race. Also catching his biggest Walleye to date. A 28.5 incher weighing about 8 lbs. Sadly in all the ruckus we never got a picture with him and his fish🤦‍♂️. Dad of the year! Anyway what a great day.

Well another tournament season came to an end this weekend. Like usual it had its highs and its lows. However this year the highs were pretty high! Marcus, Ryan, and I finally capped off a pretty amazing season capturing the Team of the Year title in the Casino Cup Walleye Circuut.
Stop 1 Grand River Casino 13th
Stop 2 Spirit Lake Casino 2nd
Stop 3 Four Bears Casino 3rd
Stop 4 Championship Grand River 7th on day 1 and 6th overall

We just wanna thank everyone for the roles you have played in our season. From the places to stay, jumping in our boats to help prefish to help break down water, and bait collection among other things. Without support from friends and family these things just don't happen. Our motto this year was keep our foot on the pedal and don't stop to the last minute and it served us well.
Other highlights were winning the Lake Area Walleye Club event on Bitter Lake and 3rd place in the Matt and Tom Hill Memorial with our largest weight on Oahe to date 24.74 lbs.
And then you have the lows with things like a dismal finish in the MWC event on Bitter Lake and the Wolves on the Water.
Again thanks for all the calls and texts your support has not gone unnoticed.
And lastly thanks to all of my sponsors Caymas boats these things ran flawlessly all year. Mercury Marine the new 400 V10 is just an unbelievable motor and so fuel-efficient, Garmin Marine probably couldn't have done any of this without your products and Justin at Capital Marine for giving us a chance to run such a amazing boats!

Well the third stop of the casino cup is in the books. We had a great week of catching fish on one of the best Walleye fisheries that I have ever fished. We Contacted a fair amount of those 27 to 30 inch fish during our pre fish as it was a ton of work with long HOT days. But by Thursday we had figured out some very solid patterns and areas with those 24 to 27 inch fish. The wind on the day the derb was the ultimate decider on our starting location and as it picked up more and more all day long we decided to stay in that general area and not go to our number one spot. Which I think proved to be a good decision because it got bucky out there. We were fortunate enough to secure a fourth place finish and stay at top of the leader board for team of the year going into the championship at Grand River casino in Moridge South Dakota. I gotta tell you one of the keys to our success with the depth of water and our Caymas livewell system. As there was a strict no dead fish allowed, we were able to keep our fish alive even in the rough 40 minute drive back. As always thanks to my wife Lonna for allowing me to do this and holding my down the fort while I am away!! And of course my partner's Marcus Quam and Ryan Busche for being the Hammers that you are. And lastly thanks to my sponsors without good companies like this it wouldn't be financially possible for me to chase this.

Fun weekend on Oahe. Marcus, Blaine and I had the chance do do a little prefishing for the Casino Championship last Saturday and the big girls were chomping a bit. We didn't fish clean. Had a couple of mis steps at the boat on a couple giants and that hurts. However we did land 3 over 29 inches derby day. The problem was 2 of them were only 7 lbers. We ended up in 3rd place by about .30 lbs with 6 for 24.74.

Results are in we have to keep it rolling this time!

Well Spirit Lake Casino Cup tournament in Devils Lake is in the books. Sorry for the late recap had a bit of a phone issue from an epic boat ride pre fishing as a 60+ mph wind caught us on the lake.
We were able to get on the water to fish Wednesday Thursday and Friday. But we really started figuring things out Thursday night when the hurricane subsided about 8 pm. We had a very productive pre fish on Friday as Marcus had his Caymas out and I had my Caymas out. We had a solid pattern going on 21 to 27 inch fish in about 4 areas.
Things started very quickly for us in the morning we were able to have 22 inch to 25 inch fish in the boat by about 9 o'clock or so and we're able to be very selective the rest of the day as you can keep 15. The whole day we felt like we needed one more of those 24 or 25 inchers and it turns out we were right but we're unable to get one more of those bigger bites. We ended up with 29.16 pounds good enough for second place with our biggest weight at Devils Lake and a Big jump in the TOY standings I'm guessing we will be setting firmly in the first place going into the third event as some of the guys in front of us did not have a great day. Can't wait to get up North and fish the big pond at 4 bears casino in New Town. Thanks again to my partner's Marcus Quam and Ryan Busche. And of course my sponsors Caymas boats, Capital marine in Fort Pierre, Mercury Marine, and Garmin electronics. Without the support of my sponsors this would not be possible thanks again.

As I stated in the last post we fished in some crazy conditions on Saturday. Now, I have had to a chance fish out of some fantastic boats over the years but my new Caymas DV22 from Capital Marine out of FT. Pierre SD is an amazing machine! I have been cautiously optimistic about it, but my expectations have been completely surpassed.
Starting with the rigging process of the boat. It is wide open and easily the easiest boat I have ever rigged. The fit and finish rivals all the top brands. The layout is absolutely perfect. The storage is mind blowing. For prefish I had and yes "I have a bit of a tackle addiction" over 100 Plano 3700 tackle boxes in the boat all in storage not crammed with room for easily 20 plus more! Also we had cold weather gear life jackets throw cushion and groceries for the day all in storage along with a cooler with a case of water and room for another case of adult beverages, live bait and cold snack absolutely nuts.
But the part I was the most impressed with is the ride all I can say is wow!!! This boat practically drives itself. We were running wide open in stuff I would in other brands just not be able to do safely. I had to call Caymas today and thank them for building the finest Walleye boat I have ever run.
Everything from my Fingear tracks, Bass Boat Technologies and Hennesey outdoors gragh mounts and of course my Garmin Marine Kracken, LVS 34 livescopes, and 8600 series graphs all performed flawlessly. If anyone is looking at a new boat or electronics this stuff is hard to beat. If anyone has any questions on any of it feel free to give me a call or shoot me a PM.
