WashU Club Gymnastics

WashU Club Gymnastics WashU's Premiere Gymnastics Club Welcome to WashU Gymnastics! Here's some general info about the club. Louis Gymnastics Center. Requirements: None!

For more information or if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to email us at [email protected]

Facilities: We carpool to an off-campus gym, St. The gym is fully equipped for all men's and women's events, and has two TumblTraks, two spring floors, one large trampoline, and a foam pit. Coaching: Our coach, Michelle Burns, is qualified to coach beginner through elite levels. If y

ou prefer to just hang out and try things on your own, you're certainly more than welcome, but if you're looking for more structure or need a spot, Michelle can provide that as well. She’s a former D1 Ohio State gymnast and has all the expertise you might need. Typically, we have an organized warm-up, followed by open-gym, and finishing with conditioning, but you're not required to participate in any of the structured activities. Schedule & Logistics: We practice on TUESDAYS AND THURSDAYS, leaving from the clocktower at 7:30pm and returning to campus around 10:15. If you have a class that intereferes, we will do our best to work around it (ie: sending a late car to the gym or early car back to campus), but this should work well with most course schedules. There is no commitment required, so if you're unable to come regularly for any reason (other clubs, have a test, other plans) that's totally fine. Regardless of whether you've never stepped foot in a gym or are looking to perfect your double Arabian, we've got you covered. Our members come from a wide variety of experiences and goals. We welcome gymnasts, dancers, martial artists, and anyone else and are committed to providing a fun, safe, and supportive environment regardless of how hard you train or how often you come. Costs: We don't charge a membership fee, but since we have to cover some of the costs of the club, we do charge $5 per practice. This fee is waived if you drive. Competitions: We have a competition team that competes in the spring semester. During the year there is an additional Saturday practice available from 4pm-6pm for competition team members to attend and 4-5 meets during the spring semester. The cost to join the competition team is $50 per semester and covers practice fees, transportation, uniforms and hotels. You don’t have to have any prior experience to join the competition team, and we encourage anyone to do so if they’re interested - whether you’ve just learned your first floor routine or competing all-around for your 10th season, anyone is welcome!

Hey everyone, the activities fair is this Friday from 2:30 to 4:30 pm and you should check us out! We’ll have members of the team present to chat and answer any questions you have about the club.

Here’s the link to talk to us during the fair:
https://wustl.zoom.us/j/96639726170

Currently because of covid we aren’t able to practice, but we host two virtual zoom workouts for anybody that’s interested. It’s a great way to get some exercise and bond with the team. We have our fingers crossed that in the fall we’ll be able to get back in the gym.

For the time being we will try to host a few outdoor Covid safe team bondings during the semester to give everyone a chance to get a break from school and see people face to face. We encourage new members to attend to get closer with the team.

We hope to see you there!

This past weekend WUCG had the pleasure of competing in the 2020 Buckeye Blast at Ohio State University. From the vault to the rings to the floor our gymnasts showed out all day long! We even had Freshman Rohan Kansagra place first in vault at his very first NAIGC meet! Keep a lookout because this is just the beggining and we have more fire routines and medals to come this season!
