To everyone who’s followed Backwoods Basics Survival — thank you. Seriously. We appreciate every single one of you who’s been here with us, learning with us, and growing alongside us. This page started as a place to share outdoor survival, bushcraft skills, and real-world gear and product reviews, and because of your support, it’s become so much more than that.

This isn’t the end of the page — it’s a new beginning.

We’re still going to focus on everything you’ve come here for: outdoor survival, bushcraft, backwoods skills, and honest outdoor life and product reviews. That’s not changing. But going forward, we’re also going to start including Search and Rescue (SAR) content.

What does that mean? It means we’ll be sharing things like:
• How people are found in the woods and wilderness
• What actually happens during search and rescue operations
• Navigation, tracking, signaling, and survival priorities
• How to prepare so you don’t need to be rescued
• And how everyday outdoorsmen can think and train more responsibly in the backcountry

At its core, SAR is about preparedness, awareness, and helping people get home safely — which fits perfectly with what this page has always stood for.
