Turf and Tundra ATV Club of Burnett County Wisconsin

Turf and Tundra ATV Club of Burnett County Wisconsin The Turf and Tundra ATV Club of Burnett County Wisconsin Turf and Tundra was founded in the spring of 1998. Both winter and summer riding is allowed.

At that time there were no defined trails or routes in Burnett County. Since that time the club has worked hard to get the current trail system and routes in. There are currently 55 miles of funded trails along with 15 miles of unfunded trails. The Burnett County trail system now connects to Douglas County to the north and Washburn County to the east via defined ATV road routes. This allows a pers

on to enjoy many more miles of ATV riding. Portions of the winter snowmobile system is open to ATV use, making Burnett county an all around place to have fun and enjoy the outdoors. The trails do close briefly each spring for thaw-out conditions. Currently we have over 150 members in the club, along with 51 business members that help support our efforts. We welcome you to join our club , with the help of members the trail system can only get better.

Seventeen Wisconsin residents have died in fatal ATV crashes so far this year. No matter your age, keeping everyone safe is up to you!

Remember:

– Only have passengers ride in designated, approved seats.

– Ride sober. Alcohol and drugs are among the top contributing factors in crashes.

– Watch your speed. Speed limits and route signs exist to prevent dangerous conditions and crashes.

– Wear your helmet and seatbelt. They will keep you and your passengers safe in the event of a crash.

Speed kills. Unfortunately, that’s the sad truth.

Excessive speeds are one of the contributing factors noted in most of the ATV/UTV fatalities in the state.

When you hit the trails, remember that more speed does not equal more fun. It means more danger. Always follow posted trail signs and speed limits when riding on Wisconsin’s trails.

Also, remember that an ATV/UTV doesn’t handle the same as a vehicle, so watch the weather and be mindful of wet conditions, especially on roadways.

Help keep our trails and routes safe.

Watch your speed, wear your helmet and always operate your machine sober.

Our Trail Ambassadors with Turf and Tundra hosted a Welcome Center out on the trail system yesterday. There were 401 machines that passed by, about 1/3 stopped for info. There were 15 trail ambassadors out monitoring the trails. The DNR and Sheriff's office had an officer join us, too. We appreciate their efforts to keep the trails safe. Thank you!!!
