Going to sit this season out. Been holding on, working for free just with the hope markets would get better for along time. There is less customers and places to sell the fur for me than ever.
Best thing about the fur business was some of you that I become friends with through it.

Hot weather predicted for Saturday.
Please don't over thaw green items especially cats.
Leave beaver frozen, along with carcass animals.
Heat and water is fur biggest enemies. It will be Saturday night before I can get them back to a freezer. So please don't over thaw anything.
Skulls and beaver tails will be best frozen too.

Looking to do a buying trip across 60 hwy (southern mo) on Feb 8th. Stops will be same or similar to last yrs run. Will work out details for sure after talking with a few of you guys in that area.

Still buying beaver tails, and undamaged skulls from all species.

Main intrest is bobcats and otters.

Not buying any c***s, coyotes, possums hides.

Only carcass items accepted will be bobcat, fox, otter. The cat and otter will bring most finished, next is skinned, least is on carcass. Fox is same price for all.

I would love to chat with you if you are considering meeting me. Unless I get more response than I'm anticipating. I will just bring a pickup. If I get enough volume I know about ahead of time I will bring a trailer.

2024-2025 season

I believe I have good orders for both otters and bobcats. From listening to groeneys video and others saying how much lower those 2 items are gonna be for Mo section. I think I will be more than competitive on them. I also can sell all skulls and beaver tails, beaver Castor. Cats, coyote, fox skulls are the best and the rest are fairly cheap but can sell all skulls.
The beaver will be less than last yr just not sure where the beaver will end up. I'll post my starting prices below.
On skulls. Just cut them off and freeze them in a clear zip lock bag. Write on the bag quantity and species. Do not clean them.

Basis for #1 skins, Missouri type section.

Cats $80 finished, $70green 50 carcass.

Otters $40 finished, $30 green, $20 carcass

Beavers $20 finished, $11 green, no carcass.

Skunks will price later

Fox 10 finished or carcass. $6 green

Rats will price later.

Coyotes no value.

C***s no value.

Running a 50% off lures in stock to discontinue handling them.
Still have some Duke 330s and belisle 280s left. And Duke 650s, Bridger #3 dogless.

Another Missouri fur buyer passes. Roger and I would visit several times every winter about the fur markets, and who was doing what all over the world related to the fur trade. About 7 or 8 yrs ago. He rented me freezer space to store a couple thousand c***s over the summer.

Roger Lynn Yoakum, age 61, of Dixon, was born on September 10, 1962, at Rolla, a son of William Roger and Betty Joann Dressendofer Yoakum and passed from this life on Sunday, June 16, 2024, in the University Hospital, Columbia. Roger was united in marriage on July 19, 1986, at

Not taking any green hides until next winter.
I've already filled and shipped most of my fur orders. So not wanting to hold much more than I already have fur wise till next season. So that's a wrap for this season. THANK YOU to all that did business with us this yr. Hopefully we will all be back at it next season.

To answer a few questions I've heard lately. Well it's still beaver season why aren't you still buying all fur. My customers giving these orders, need to get the fur shipped to the tannery by now to have time to get it dressed and shipped to their manufacturer to have the product made and available to sell by next fall. Missing out on next yrs selling season of their products is more of a concern than what our conservation declares legal harvesting time. Another issue is. Some of these orders are more rock solid than others. Meaning they say they want something at a certain price then the first auction in north bay goes off. And fha gives that item away for a fraction of that cost and guess what they buy it there and no longer need what they spoke for. So getting it shipped to the customer before that first fha sale is the best way to stop that.

So since either all or a very high percentage of trappers catch will be harvested by march 1st or before each yr. It would be best to sell what you have by then or better yet well before then. Then if you have just a little dab left after that I'm more willing to buy n store it than your whole load. Or you can keep it and add to your next seasons load.
