JUMP Infant Aquatics

JUMP Infant Aquatics At Jump Infant Aquatics®LLC we believe everyone should feel confident jumping into the water. Tami teaches year round in an indoor, heated pool.

We teach survival swim lessons, traditional lessons, mermaid classes, lifeguard classes and everything in-between. Tami has been a swim instructor and lifeguard for over three decades. In 1993 and 1994 Tami swam for Orange Coast and won the state championship title. During her college years, Tami coached multiple swim teams and continues to hold mutiple aquatic certifications. In 2000, Tami and he

r family moved from California to Oregon and Tami began her YMCA career as an Aquatic Director and swim coach. As Tami moved forward in her career, she continued to be heavily involved in aquatics. Tami took the Infant Aquatics survival swim training in 2020 and is ready to help your family be water safe.

🛑 SPOILER ALERT: it's (been) time to act.

Read that statistic again: 91% of deaths in children 14 years or younger with Autism are due to drowning.

Not because families don’t care...

Not because caregivers aren’t trying...

And not because these children “don’t know better.”

But because traditional water safety strategies are often not designed for children who experience the world differently.

For many neurodivergent children, water can be more than “fun.”

It can be sensory regulation.
A special interest.
A powerful attraction.
An impulsive destination during moments of stress, dysregulation, or elopement.

And many of the behaviors that increase drowning risk are commonly misunderstood.

This is why supervision alone is not always enough.

This is why “just teach them to swim” is not the full answer.

And this is exactly why we designed our FREE Adaptive Water Safety Toolkit.

Because prevention has to go beyond generic rules.
At Swim Angelfish, our toolkit focuses on:
✔ Ritual & Routine
✔ Monitor & Intervene
✔ Rescue Equipment Familiarity
✔ Understanding sensory-seeking behaviors
✔ Layered protection strategies
✔ Safety education designed for ALL learners

Because water safety is not one-size-fits-all.
And now… we’ve brought those concepts to life in a way children can actively engage with.

Our newly launched All Abilities Water Safety Activity Book was designed to make these critical safety concepts:
✨ visual
✨ interactive
✨ hands-on
✨ approachable for different learning styles

Whether you’re: a parent, swim instructor, therapist, ABA provider, educator, adaptive aquatics professional, or ANY water safety-devout community member…

this book was created to help turn water safety conversations into meaningful learning experiences.

Use it during:
✔ swim lessons
✔ ABA sessions
✔ therapy sessions
✔ classroom activities
✔ home routines
✔ community programs
✔ water safety events

Because awareness matters.

Preparation matters.

And proactive education saves lives.

This isn’t about fear, it’s about prevention.

Our FREE toolkit + activity books are always available here:

Water Safety Month may be ending, but our passion for drowning prevention and adaptive water safety continues all year long.

We’re proud to partner with organizations like Stop Drowning Now to help spread lifesaving education, proactive prevention strategies, and inclusive water safety resources to families and communities everywhere. 💙

One of the most common criticisms of survival swim lessons is that they're "traumatic." But there's an important question to consider: what is more traumatic—a structured lesson designed to teach a lifesaving skill, or a drowning incident?

At Jump Infant Aquatics, our goal is never to overwhelm a child. In fact, we know many different ways to teach each skill, which allows us to tailor lessons to the individual student. We always start with the gentlest, most effective approach and only increase the challenge when a student truly needs additional support to make progress.

Our instructors work hard to make lessons engaging, encouraging, and even fun. Children learn through play, repetition, trust, and positive relationships. While learning survival skills can sometimes be challenging, the confidence and safety those skills provide are invaluable.

Many people focus on swimming as a sport. And while many of our students go on to join swim teams and become strong swimmers, that's not why most parents bring their children to us.

Parents aren't enrolling because they dream of their child winning races. They're enrolling because they want their child to have the skills to survive an unexpected water accident. They want the peace of mind that comes from knowing their child has a chance to save themselves if they ever find themselves in the water alone.

At the end of the day, our mission isn't about creating athletes. It's about helping children stay alive in a water emergency.

Because drowning is traumatic. Learning how to survive isn't.

At JUMP Infant Aquatics we give a gift on the last day of the swim session. This is a book written by Tami and her daughter Makenzie called "The things you can do when you learn how to swim."

We love getting pictures and texts from parents expressing how much their children love swimming but also how much they love their book.

This is what one parent said ⬇️

"The girls are obsessed with their new books! Thanks so much! They read them all the way home, over dinner, at breakfast. Haha. Then took them to school."

This means so much. 💙

Especially to Makenzie who was the brains behind the writers block. 😂😂😂
