Following a hot afternoon practice round on Sunday at Clemson's Walker Course, all seven members of the Catamount women's golf team open competition for the 2026-27 fall on Monday with a two-round, 36-hole Tiger Classic. Action gets underway with a shotgun start at 8:30 am. Live scoring available for Monday's opening rounds of the season!

Cullowhee, N.C. – Western Carolina women's golf opens the 2026-27 season on Monday with a short trip to Clemson, S.C., for the third annual Tiger Classic. It marks the third consecutive season the Catamounts have competed in the one-day, 36-hole event on the Tigers' home course.

Western Carolina women's golf landed three players on the 2025-26 Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholars team released today by the coaching organization. Senior Sadler Miller and sophomores Annalee Caveney and Elsa Maren Steinarsdôttir each received recognition from the WGCA for excellence in the classroom and on the links.

This year marks the 26th consecutive year that Western Carolina has placed women's golfers on the annual WGCA honorees – and the 24th straight year that WCU has had multiple selections within the same academic year.

Mickey Randolph, professor emeritus of psychology, who retired from Western Carolina University in May 2023, after a 37-year career, has established the Steve Lott Memorial Endowed Scholarship, thanks to gifts and pledges totaling $25,000. The scholarship fund is being supported by another $3,500 in memorial contributions from former players, friends, and colleagues.

Lott, a three-time Southern Conference Women’s Golf Coach of the Year and member of the WCU Athletics Hall of Fame, died in October 2025.

Creation of the Steve Lott Memorial Endowed Scholarship comes as WCU is nearing the conclusion of the “Fill the Western Sky” comprehensive fundraising campaign, a multiyear effort to raise a minimum of $100 million for WCU’s academic, student engagement, and athletics programs. This is the third comprehensive fundraising campaign in university history, and it is the first to focus on philanthropic support for improvements to facilities used by Catamount student-athletes.

A retired Western Carolina University faculty member has created an endowed scholarship fund to support student-athletes on the Catamount women’s golf team in memory of her late husband, who coached the program to a pair of conference championships.

Congratulations to our four Catamount women’s golfers – graduate transfer EC Niebauer, senior Sadler Miller, and sophomores Annalee Caveney and Elsa Maren Steinarsdôttir - each named to the 2026 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District At-Large team today. Miller collected her PROGRAM-BEST third career all-district honor!

Cullowhee, N.C. – Western Carolina put a combined six golfers on the 2026 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic At-Large All-District teams, unveiled today by the organizing group from nominations solicited from each school's respective media relations or communications office.

Western Carolina women's golf matched Monday's opening round with a team score of 309 through Wednesday's final 18 holes at the 2026 Southern Conference Women's Golf Championship, finishing eighth overall with a three-round total of 949 as competition concluded at the par-72, 6,089-yard Columbia Country Club.

Wednesday's tournament conclusion marks the end of the 2025-26 season for the Western Carolina women's golf team. It also marks the conclusion of the collegiate playing careers of both transfer EC Niebuaer and two-sport standout Sadler Miller, who has also lettered in track & field during her Catamount career.
