If you haven’t yet attended a potting event at The Plant Barn - Purkey Landscaping you are absolutely missing out! What a great way to spend just an hour of your time. They supply the giant pot, the soil, all the beautiful healthy plants & have the option to purchase cute little extra adornments to add to your planter. I truly love the way mine turned out & my kitty in the window Ms. Rayn was clearly enamored as well! 🤩

Creating a planter arrangement doesn’t have to be just another gardening task to check of your seasonal list, it can easily become a mindful yogic experience.

Slow down, tune into your breath, feel the soil between your fingers. Relax, notice all of your senses. The colors, textures, scents & shapes.

Let go of perfection & allow yourself to arrange your creation with intention.

Gardening can be meditation in motion.

A beautiful reminder that yoga isn’t just something we do on the mat or in our chair.

Yoga is a way of being.

Yoga is a way of life.

Pepper it into your day as often as you possibly can.

Follow their page & watch for other upcoming events! ♥️😎✌🏼

📖 ABCs of Yoga - Day 17: Āśrama

Āśrama is a stage or period of life in the yogic tradition where life is viewed as a journey through four phases:

🧘 Brahmacharya - the student stage - focused on learning & discipline
🏡 Gṛhastha - the householder stage - centered on family, work, relationships & contribution
🌳 Vānaprastha - the forest dwelling stage - gradually stepping back from worldly responsibilities & turning inward
🕉️ Sannyāsa - the renunciate stage - letting go, devotion, wisdom & spiritual freedom

Each stage has its own lessons, responsibilities, challenges & opportunities for growth.

Yoga reminds us that we don’t have to be the same person in every season of our lives. We are meant to evolve, let go & step into what each chapter is asking of us. 🕉️

✨ Honor the season you’re in right now
✨ Learn what it has to teach you
✨ Trust that your next chapter will come when it’s time

The beauty of Āśrama is the reminder that every chapter of life has a purpose.
We aren’t meant to cling to who we once were - we’re meant to grow into who we are becoming.

Always honor the season you’re in. There is wisdom waiting for you there.

What season of life are you in right now? Share below! ♥️😎✌🏼

📖 ABCs of Yoga - Day 16: Asana 🧘🏻‍♀️

Asana is the physical posture or ‘seat’ of yoga.

However, asana is more than simply “doing the poses.” It’s about finding a steady, comfortable place in your body so your mind can become still. Each posture invites you to listen, breathe, soften, strengthen & just become more present & aware.

Much of the asana you see today didn’t even exist when yoga began. According to tradition, Adiyogi appeared in the upper regions of the Himalayas over 15,000 years ago where he sat in absolute stillness & silent meditation. He didn’t speak for months. Imagine!

While this may be considered extreme by us Westerners, yoga clearly isn’t just about making our bodies fit certain poses, it’s about allowing the poses to help us become more at home in our body, mind, heart & spirit.

Today, take time to notice how you FEEL in your asana - not how you look in it.

📖 ABCs of Yoga - Day 15: Ardha 🌗

Ardha means “half” & is also described as partial, one of two equal parts, a portion, or something midway between two points. It appears in many familiar yoga postures, such as Ardha Chandrasana (Half Moon Pose), Ardha Dhanurasana (Half Bow Pose), Ardha Matsyendrasana (Half Lord of the Fishes Pose) & Ardha Padmasana (Half Lotus Pose).

But “half” doesn’t mean incomplete. 🌓

Yoga reminds us that balance often comes from embracing both sides - the effort & the ease, the strength & the softness, the light & the shadow.

Today, practice Ardha by finding your own middle ground. You don’t have to be whole, perfect, or finished to be exactly where you need to be.

✨Sometimes half is exactly enough. ✨

📖 ABCs of Yoga - Day 14: Anubhava 🧎🏻‍♀️

Anubhava means direct experience, realization, or personal understanding.

Yoga isn’t just something we read about, talk about, or learn from someone else. It’s something we experience.

The breath.
The stillness.
The movement.
The emotions.
The connection between body, mind & spirit.

Anubhava reminds us that some of life’s deepest lessons can’t be explained - they must be felt & experienced for ourselves.

✨ Don’t just practice yoga.
🧘🏻‍♀️ Experience it.

📖 ABCs of Yoga - Day 13: Antar Mouna 🤫

Antar Mouna means “inner silence.” It’s the practice of turning our attention inward & just simply observing what arises - our thoughts, emotions, sensations, memories & even the glorious spaces between them.

We don’t have to judge every single thought.
We don’t have to fix every single feeling.
We don’t have to react to every little thing that crosses our minds.

We can simply notice. Acknowledge. Breathe. Witness. Let go.

In a world filled with constant noise & distraction, Antar Mouna invites us all to discover that quiet place within ourselves - the place where we can listen immensely & truly reconnect with our own inner wisdom.

✨ Today, give yourself a few quiet moments. Close your eyes, breathe & just observe what’s happening within you … without judgment.

Sometimes the most powerful thing we can hear is the silence deep within. 🕉️
