Sandlot Games 2023

​The Sandlot games is a weekend event to raise money for the Kids Helping Kids Fight Cancer Campaign. Youth teams (travel & recreational) from the SW PA and WV areas come together to play the game they love not for a trophy but to help their peers who are fighting for their lives. Teams are guaranteed a minimum of 2 games with the possibility of 4. Divisions range from 6U-14U. Inflatables, Raffles, Chinese Auctions, 50/50 and concessions will be available. Our event is about teaching kids to give back to others and good sportsmanship. We do not charge a fee but welcome donations for The Colby’s Stars Foundation which provides assistance to kids and families of Greene County who are battling cancer.

Try-outs for 9U, 10U, and 11U are Sundays August 21 & 28 at 4:00PM, Waynesburg Lion’s Club Field with a parent meeting to explain how the bats work to follow at 6:00 PM

The BATS is a free team coached by former college players, a minor league player and a former college coach. This is free year round instruction from coaches who know the game! We are fully insured and a 501c3 nonprofit organization!

All players that make the team will be asked for a small registration fee and required fundraiser event participation.

Try-outs for the Greene County Bats are coming in September for 10U and 11U players. The tryouts in September will be for the coaches to meet any new players and families. We invite any interested to tryout, practice and play scrimmages with us in the fall. We will make cuts or assign players to A or B teams at the end of the fall season (October)

Just as in its inaugural season, the BATS is a free developmental team coached by former college players, a minor league player and a former college coach. This is free year round instruction from coaches who know the game! We are fully insured and a 501c3 nonprofit organization!

All 10U and 11U players that make the team will be asked for a small registration fee and required fundraiser event participation.

Depending on interest, an A and B tournament team may be possible for the spring. Try outs are completely free! The BATS are 100% about helping your player grow in skill and passion for the game.

*A 9U team under the BATS umbrella may be possible if the interest and volunteer staff is available!* 9U players are encouraged to tryout.
