Things have been really slow as of lately. But.... finally with some good weather coming in. It's gonna be time to get back to work and get at it, and start doing what I had intentionally wanted to do to get this off the ground. Since 2020 with the pandemic on us, things went on wayside and placed on the back burner. But this year is goingto be different, I'm going go head strong back into this. Only thing that has really changed is 1.) I started making knives. 2.) Prices will have to go up due to the cost of exotic woods. However, they will still be manageable for the everyday working person. And finally 3.) My primary call made will be coyote hand calls. But i have the gear to make deer grunts and turkey pot calls.

Here's the progress on my 3rd knife. Pics show starting point up until now as it now in its 2nd tempering cycle, yes....i even heat treated it and cleaned it up before the tempering.

I just love it when i can a piece of wood or steel or both and make something out of it. Finally got around to finishing my 2nd knife today. Started out as a piece of flat stock 1095 steel. After some designing, cutting, shaping, heat treating, tempering and making some mahogany scales for it....it turned out better then the first one.

Back at this morning....waiting for the 2 part epoxy to set up, then on to a lot more sanding. After sanding comes the sharpening. If there's one thing ive learned so far making this knife it's DON'T use 1/4" steel....good thing i have 1/8" steel on it's way for the next knife I'll be making.

It's been awhile since i posted anything and yes I'm still making calls. However, tonights post is for my quick set tonight. Went to a super duper top secret spot at an undisclosed location. I got setup and turned on my ATN X-SIGHT II and it was showing it was 10:15pm (that would eastern standard time), looked throught the ATN to adjust my focus and IR beam. This guy came out play at 140yrds, i pulled the trigger at 10:16pm. I heard the bullet hit him, watched him face plant and spin 2 times and he went 15yrds and took his dirt nap. He weighed in at 32.5lbs....i had to step on a scale and weigh myself, then hold him and step on the scale.

It's been awhile, but things have been busy. However.....lets see how busy y'all can make me, i have materials finally in for my mouth calls. Put em in your pocket and take em anywhere with you, you never knowwhen you'll decide to go coyote hu ting at the spur of the moment. I have 2 types of double reed calls available. One has a black and red latex to reproduce that female vocals and pup whines, the other is 2 pieces of red latex and with less stretch to get a little more raspy howl and distress. You can purchase either 1 call a 2 call set, price for 1 is $7 and a 2 call set for $12, these prices also include shipping.
