Last Thursday was the Club Sports Banquet at Wayne State. It marks the very end our our Spring semester and the MVP/Club Sport of the Year awards are given out. This year, Hayley Long, Shotgun Sports President, was voted Most Valuable Shooter of the team!

Unfortunately, we did not get Club Sport of the Year again, but we were only 3 points short! We'll get it next year, Cats! 😉

I wish you luck on your finals and I hope everyone has a wonderful summer! Practice and rest up, you guys! You have a big year ahead of you! 🖤💛

ACUI Nationals - San Antonio Day 3:

Today we shot sporting clays at 8am, had lunch at In-and-Out, and shot s***t doubles at 3pm.

Honorable mentions go to Jon Dixon and Hayley Long for getting Academic Excellence Awards for having a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher!!

To close out the day, we had dinner at Sea Island Shrimp House.

It has been a long and hard week. Awesome job team!! This is by far the best we have shot together and everyone really brought it this weekend!

ACUI Nationals - San Antonio Day 2:

We shot super sporting clays at 8am and followed up with trap doubles at 1pm.

That night, we visited The Alamo, the Riverwalk, and ate at The Original Mexican Restaurant.

Kyleigh Doyle and Hayley Long also received 25 straight patches for their 25s in trap the day prior!

ACUI Nationals - San Antonio Day 1:

We started out at 9:30am with s***t. It rained on us the whole time but everyone did extremely well!

Next, we shot trap at 2pm and honorable mentions go to: Kyleigh Doyle for shooting her VERY FIRST 25 straight, and Hayley Long for shooting a 25 straight!

Overall, the team has been doing extremely well and this is by far the best we have all shot together, yet!

This evening, we had some really good BBQ from The Barbeque Station and had a relaxing (but competitive 😉) evening of mini golf and lazer tag.

Tomorrow, we are shooting super sporting clays and double trap. Lets Dust 'Em, Cats! 💛🖤

On Friday, the team helped with the 31st annual Pheasants Forever Banquet. We raffled off a stunning American flag made by one of our teammates friends and gifted a shotgun swag basket to the general auction. Thank you so much to the individual who won the flag! Your purchase is helping fund our gas for nationals this week, and we hope your new art piece looks just as stunning in your home! As for the basket, ironically enough, our schools registrar won it! 🖤💛

We would also like to give out a big thank you to our wonderful sponsors, Logan Creek Pheasants Forever Chapter # 303, for letting us come and help out! This is one of our favorite events every year and we are already looking forward to next years!

Feb 18-19th, we had our semesterly clinic with Coach Long. We worked hard, had some fun, and got to spend some quality time together. Thank you so much Steve for spending the weekend working with us! The team learned a lot and we are more ready than ever for Nationals! And a big thank you to MeLisa for making home cooked meals all weekend! It was a much needed break from campus food and the team truly loves spending time with you guys!
