When it rains, it pours......naaaa, all was good. Had a BIG weekend, well for us anyway. Viola went real well for us, lots of power and smoke, 2 sleds, great show. Got home, I recall I slept a few hours, then up. Headed to next pull, ran into rain a few miles out of town, then next thing you knew it wasn't raining cats and dogs, it was more like horses and cows. That pull did get rescheduled for the 20th. Monday rolls around and preventive maintenance got me. I DID do preventive maintenance on a switch and found out on slow pulls it wouldn't trip consistently. No good deed goes unpunished I was reminded. I caught it right away and put a different switch arm on it. It worked great at faster speeds but slow it didn't work, like under 3 mph. We started class over and the 3rd time it was performing spot on. So yes, down for a little bit till we got a stiffer switch arm put on then we were golden!! Could I have kept pulling the way it was, yes, was it right or correct, NO. This is my 25th year of sledding, I won't pull a class that I feel the sled or I messed up on and was unfair. I dont care who wins, but I do want my sled to perform equal for ALL pullers in any given class. As I've said, my door is open and anyone can ride along, as long as you have deodorant on and maybe a sweatshirt at times cuz it gets cold in there. Ended the holiday weekend on a great note. We'll see you next weekend in South Dakota!!
