Majors Division Recap — Wednesday Night at Ackerly Fairgrounds

A pair of Majors Division games Wednesday night at Ackerly Fairgrounds featured a comeback effort and a strong offensive performance.

Game 1:
VFW Post 7069 used a big fourth inning to pull away from F. Smith & Sons for a 13-3 victory.

F. Smith & Sons jumped out early behind an RBI walk from Noah Bejeski and a two run double from Cael McCormick.

VFW answered in the third inning before breaking the game open in the fourth. Chase Siebecker led the offense with four RBIs, while Patrick Davis, Connor Mitchell, Matthew Riff, and Declan Grady also drove in runs during the rally.

Grayden Kane and Siebecker each collected multiple hits, while Eliot Karam helped lead a clean defensive effort. Grady earned the win on the mound with four strikeouts over four innings.

For F. Smith & Sons, McCormick led the offense with two RBIs, while Vincie Pricci and Benjamin Talarico also collected hits.

Final: VFW Post 7069 13, F. Smith & Sons 3

Game 2:
G.R. Noto defeated Abington Lions Club behind a strong offensive performance Wednesday night.

Owen Walsh had a huge night at the plate, hitting three home runs and driving in seven runs. Bradley McDonald and Aidan Duffy each added multiple hits, while Preston Barrett also reached base consistently throughout the game.

David Kalechitz earned the win on the mound for G.R. Noto, with Duffy also pitching in relief.

For Abington Lions Club, Lukas Lewis and Abraham Campbell each collected hits.

Final: G.R. Noto 21, Abington Lions Club 0

Orlando Foods Edges Shamus Foundation in High Scoring Battle

The lone Majors game Tuesday night at Ackerly Fairgrounds featured plenty of offense as Orlando Foods held off a late rally from Shamus Foundation for an 11-10 win.

Carson Walsh led the way offensively for Orlando Foods with three hits, including two triples. Patrick Scanlon also collected three hits, while Billy Dempsey, Andreas Butchko, and Rowan Walsh each drove in two runs. Prestan Grebb added multiple hits, and Gavin Marriott swiped two bases.

Orlando Foods built a lead early, highlighted by a six run third inning.

Shamus Foundation battled back in the fifth with a seven run inning to make things close late. Jaxon Hizny, Ford Eckenrode, and Jake McCormack each collected multiple hits, while Hizny drove in two runs.

Patrick Scanlon started on the mound for Orlando Foods, while Ford Eckenrode got the start for Shamus Foundation. Giovanni Tunis and Grebb also pitched in relief for Orlando Foods, while Blake Hnat and Rory Farrell pitched in relief for Shamus Foundation.

Final: Orlando Foods 11, Shamus Foundation 10

Three Games Monday Night in the Majors Division

A full night of action at the Ackerly Fairgrounds featured a comeback win, a strong offensive showing, and a balanced team effort.

Game 1:
Nealon Law topped Abington Lions Club 7-3.

Bradey Bleich led the way offensively with two hits, including a triple, while Conor Glenn also added multiple hits. Timmy Deschaine earned the win on the mound and added two stolen bases, while Bleich closed the game with a scoreless relief inning.

For Abington Lions Club, Patrick Dean got the start on the mound, while Stephen Strauch tossed three strong innings in relief. Strauch also collected multiple hits, while Abraham Campbell and Benjamin each drove in runs.

Final: Nealon Law 7, Abington Lions Club 3

Game 2:
Orlando Foods pulled away late for a 10-2 win over G.R. Noto.

Billy Dempsey led Orlando Foods with three hits and three RBIs, while Prestan Grebb added two RBIs. Rowan Walsh added multiple hits, and Joey Pasqualichio contributed key RBIs.

Carson Walsh earned the win on the mound with nine strikeouts, while Dempsey added scoreless relief.

For G.R. Noto, Brad McDonald got the start on the mound, with Caleb Engerman pitching in relief. Peter Adair collected multiple hits and drove in a run, while David Kalechitz also added multiple hits.

Game 3:
VFW Post 7069 rallied from an early deficit to edge F. Smith & Sons 10-9.

F. Smith & Sons built an early lead behind hits from Ben Talarico, Noah Bejeski, and Cael McCormick. Talarico, Murphy Lyle, Vincie Pricci, and McCormick each collected multiple hits.

VFW answered throughout the game behind timely hitting from Grayden Kane and Connor Mitchell, who each collected multiple hits. Eliot Karam and Mitchell also drove in runs.

Patrick Davis started on the mound for VFW Post 7069 before Kane earned the win in relief.

Pitchers Duel at Ackerly Fairgrounds

F. Smith & Sons and Orlando Foods battled in a tight, low scoring game Thursday night at Ackerly Fairgrounds.

F. Smith & Sons broke a late tie in the fifth inning and leaned on a dominant outing from Evan Ross to secure the win. Ross struck out 10 batters over six innings, allowing just three hits and one run. He also delivered an immaculate inning in the fifth, striking out the side on nine pitches.

At the plate, Vincie Pricci collected both hits for F. Smith & Sons, while Noah Bejeski helped spark the offense by drawing the go ahead walk. Julian Armezzani also consistently found his way on base throughout the game.

Orlando Foods continued to battle behind a strong start from Carson Walsh, who struck out five and allowed no earned runs over three innings. Carson and Rowan Walsh accounted for all three Orlando Foods hits, while Billy Dempsey added a strong relief outing, striking out three. Patrick Scanlon drove in Orlando Foods’ lone run.

Final: F. Smith & Sons 2, Orlando Foods 1

Two close games Monday night at Ackerly Fairgrounds featuring a late finish and a tight defensive battle.

Game 1:
Abington Lions Club edged Orlando Foods in a back and forth matchup.

Orlando Foods took an early lead behind RBI plays from Carson Walsh and Rowan Walsh, and a solo home run from Carson helped keep them in front.

Abington Lions Club answered throughout, using consistent hitting to stay even before taking the lead late. Max Shursky delivered the go ahead hit in the seventh, while Nicholas Rosiecki led the way with a big night at the plate, driving in four runs and collecting multiple hits. Abraham Campbell also contributed as part of a deep lineup effort.

On the mound, Abington Lions Club got strong work from Stephen Strauch early, with Shursky coming on in relief to help secure the win.

For Orlando Foods, Patrick Scanlon made his debut on the mound and turned in a strong outing. Gavin Marriott, Carson Walsh, and Rowan Walsh each collected multiple hits, with Marriott also adding three stolen bases.

Final: Abington Lions Club 9, Orlando Foods 8

Game 2:
VFW Post 7069 held off Nealon Law in a tight, low scoring game.

Nealon Law struck first and continued to battle throughout, with Timothy Deschaine and Ronan Setta each driving in runs and contributing at the plate. Deschaine also got the start on the mound and turned in a strong outing.

VFW answered and took control in the third inning. Grayden Kane delivered the key hit with a two run triple, while Connor Mitchell added an RBI to give VFW the lead.

Matthew Riff led the way on the mound for VFW, pitching a complete game and keeping Nealon Law in check.

Both teams played clean defense and competed until the final out.

Two games Friday night at Ackerly Fairgrounds featuring a tight battle and a strong offensive showing.

Game 1:
Nealon Law edged Orlando Foods in a back and forth matchup that went into extra innings.

Orlando Foods was led by a big night from Carson Walsh, who collected three hits including an inside the park home run in the first inning. Giovanni Tunis and Billy Dempsey also added multiple hits as Orlando built an early lead.

On the mound, Gavin Marriott got the start for Orlando Foods, with Dempsey turning in a strong relief outing to keep the game close. Timothy Deschaine started for Nealon Law, with Bradey Bleich closing it out.

Nealon Law stayed within striking distance and came through late, breaking the tie in the seventh inning with a key double from Jordan Schoenberg. Santo Zhangi and Schoenberg each drove in two runs, while Bleich added multiple hits.

Final: Nealon Law 8, Orlando Foods 6

Game 2:
G.R. Noto used a big first inning to pull away from Shamus Foundation.

Shamus got on the board early behind Thomas Tulaney, but G.R. Noto answered with five runs in the bottom half and continued to add on.

Jake McCormack started for Shamus Foundation and struck out eight. Bradley McDonald led the way on the mound for G.R. Noto.

At the plate, Peter Adair had three hits, while Owen Walsh and Caleb added multiple hits. For Shamus Foundation, McCormack, Ford Eckenrode, Tulaney, Jaxon Hizny, and Rory each collected a hit.

Final: G.R. Noto 11, Shamus Foundation 3
