The main reason why coaches are needed in sports is to educate, inspire, motivate, and hold their players/clients accountable. If you find yourself struggling to stay motivated or dedicate yourself to something, surround yourself with those who will help you achieve your goal. Get a friend to go with you to the gym, or a mentor to push you towards success. You don't have to go about this alone, find someone to do it with you!

If you have lower back pain and do not have a debilitating medical condition that causes it, you may be experiencing tight muscles/joint pain due to lack of movement throughout different planes/ranges of motion. What does this mean? You need to perform some simple 5 minute mobility routines. You need to strength train. You need to move. You may need help figuring out what to do and where to start. Not knocking the scale, but there’s a lot of other MAJOR advantages to working out.
How you monitor progress can be done any of these ten ways and, honestly, they’re all really important.
So, don’t get down if the scale isn’t changing. As long as you’re getting stronger, feeling more confident, and daily life activities are getting easier, you’re making amazing progress. Keep it up!

If you want to build muscle, prioritize strength training. Muscle is built in the gym, but it's repaired in the kitchen. Make sure you're eating enough to support growing 1-2lbs per month.

If you're only gaining fat and not building muscle, try increasing the volume (number of sets and reps). Don't get too fat though! If your 6-pack becomes a 4-pack, your bulk is over.

For fat loss, it's simple. Eat to lose fat. Train to build muscle. Add a bit of High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) to help increase your metabolism. Extensive cardio isn't really needed unless you need to get down to very low body fat percentages.

It’s almost guaranteed that a big transformation will take you longer than you expect it to.
What you really need to know is that fat loss and fat gain are both dependent on energy balance. You don’t have 50+ lbs of a positive energy balance to cause fat gain in a few short days, so stop expecting to lose it that fast.
The entire process, gain or loss, is scientifically pretty slow. But it is worth it.
