🌽 MJ Knighten (2014-2017)

• First black Head Coach in USD Softball history.

• Youngest Head Coach in Division I Softball.

🌽 Rhonda Revelle (1981-1983)

• First coach in Nebraska Athletics history to win 1,000 games at Nebraska (men's or women's).

• Conference Coach of the Year in three separate conferences (Big 8, Big 12, Big Ten).

🌽 Tori Tyson (2008-2011)

• First Husker to become an HBCU Head Coach (Howard).

• Received the 2020 National Fastpitch Coaches Association - NFCA Diversity Convention Scholarship for her commitment to working with minorities and growing the game of fastpitch in her community.

🌽 Kiki Stokes (2013-2016)

• Co-founded This Is Us Softball, a softball program aiming to raise awareness, empower young women, and unite the softball community.

🌽 Courtney Breault (2012-2013)

• First female coach in Clemson Softball history, the youngest program in P5 Division I Softball.

Successful 2-day catching + speed/agility camp this week. These 8 young women were AMAZING! It was a blast watching them take every challenge head on.

The best part was hearing them be able to tell us: - - One thing they got better at
- One softball thing they learned
- One LIFE thing they learned... SO important.

In just two days they not only became better athletes & catchers, but more confident, empowered women who HAVE HEART. 💪🏽♥️

Unfortunately, we couldn’t escape COVID any longer. 🥴 We ended up catching the bug a few days ago and had to cancel camp and lessons for the time being. We were bummed that we couldn’t meet in person tonight, but, we wanted to make sure that we were still able to see, catch up with, and mentor some of our kiddos.

Tonight, we heard from special guests Regan Mergele and Ally Riley. Regan started her career at Butler County CC where she was a JUCO All-American. She finished her career at the University of Nebraska. Ally Riley is currently a senior catcher at UNL, and is also very involved in the community. Ally and Regan talked to our group about their journeys, their recruitment, and their PURPOSE.

This was a last minute zoom call, so we didn’t have all of our girls on, but tonight was the first of many mentoring sessions. Have Heart Training is about so much more than softball - we strive to help young women feel empowered and inspired.
