It is with a stick that feels heavier than usual—a stick that has seen 12 years of frozen mud, blistering winds, and glorious, frozen hockey—that we deliver this news. The time has come to hang up the skates for good. Due to a lack of registrations this year, we simply don't have enough players to put on the kind of legendary, full-tilt tournament you all deserve.
After 12 incredible years of the annual pond hockey in Wausau, the tournament is officially done for good. We may not be dropping the puck this winter, but the memories we’ve created on that frozen surface will last forever. Thank you for lacing up, for battling through the snow, and for making this event the purest game on earth for over a decade.
📷 IMPORTANT: Cancellation and Refund Information
While the news is tough, we want to make the administrative part as smooth as possible.
Official Cancellation: The Wisconsin Pond Hockey tournament scheduled for January 16th-17th,2025 is officially canceled.
Refunds: Your full registration fee will be refunded back to the original method of payment.
Timeline: We use Stripe for processing payments. Due to the time required for funds to transfer from our account back to Stripe, we anticipate all refunds will be processed and visible in your bank account or on your credit card statement by the end of the year (December 31, 2025). You do not need to take any action.
Trouble-shooting: If you do not see the refund credited by January 5, 2026, please reply directly to this email with your team name and Captain’s full name.
The rink is closed, but the memories live on. Keep the skates sharp, keep the stories going, and never forget the feeling of a perfect pass on fresh ice.
