25 years later, we pause to remember and honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001, the heroes who answered the call, and the families and communities forever impacted.

Today and always, we remember. We will never forget. 🇺🇸

♻️ Recycling with a purpose! 💚

This season, the Wausau Woodchucks, Wausau Ignite, and Roastar teamed up to turn aluminum recycling at Athletic Park into a meaningful impact for our community.

Thanks to our fans for using designated aluminum recycling bins throughout the ballpark, we kept 318.7 pounds of aluminum out of landfills this season — and the success of the initiative helped make a $3,000 donation to the Marathon County Literacy Council (McLit)! 📚👏

McLit provides free resources and educational programs that help individuals throughout Marathon County build brighter, more confident futures through literacy.

A huge THANK YOU to Roastar for partnering with us and to every fan who recycled throughout the season. We’re proud to continue this program into the 2027 season! ♻️⚾

Together, we’re making an impact — one cup, one can, and one season at a time. 💚

The right-handed pitcher, selected by the Astros in the sixth round of the 2023 MLB Draft out of Towson University, started against the Los Angeles Angels and tossed 3.2 innings with four strikeouts. In the Northwoods League with Wausau in 2023, Pecko posted a dominant 1.04 ERA over five starts (26 innings), striking out 36 batters while walking only eight.

Over this past season, the Woodchucks and Ignite family experienced the loss of a dear friend, tremendous fan, and wonderful neighbor, Fritz Blaskowski, who passed away on Tuesday, July 28.

Fritz and his wife, Jill, raised their family just outside the back gate of Athletic Park and were truly part of the Woodchucks family. Over the years, they embraced everything that came with game day, always welcoming the many players, fans, and summer staff who passed their home with kindness and a cheerful attitude.

Several times each summer, Fritz and Jill would join us at the ballpark with friends and family. On fireworks nights, they could often be found sitting in their front yard, enjoying the show.

Through the many changes and construction projects at Athletic Park, Fritz was always patient, understanding, and encouraging to our staff. His positivity, friendship, and support meant more to us than we can say.

Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with Julie, Tony, Mary, and the entire Blaskowski family.

As we reflect on this past season, we are grateful for the many memories shared with such a special neighbor and friend. We know Fritz and Jill now have the best seats in the house for every fireworks show. ❤️🎆

It’s been a little quieter around the Front Office these past few days as our amazing interns head off to their next adventures! 🥹

Whether they’re heading home, going back to school, or starting their full-time careers, we couldn’t be more thankful for all they’ve brought to our team. We’re so grateful for each and every one of them and wish them nothing but the best in whatever comes next! 💙

Thank you for everything, interns! We’ll miss having you around! 🫶
