There is always something to explore at Aeaea.

Each month, we offer a different opportunity to step outside the familiar—to learn a new practice, work with herbs and botanicals, move the body, quiet the mind, or simply make something with our hands.

Sometimes it looks like a spell jar.
Sometimes it’s tea, an herbal preparation, movement, meditation, or a seasonal ritual.

The point isn’t perfection . It’s curiosity.

It’s learning the language of plants.
Exploring the relationship between intention and action.

Making space for mindfulness, creativity, and a little bit of magic.

Our workshops are an invitation to try something new, ask questions, get your hands messy, and perhaps discover a practice that stays with you long after you leave.

Across cultures and traditions, stones and minerals have long been given meaning—associated with qualities like love, courage, protection, intuition, abundance, grounding, and transformation.

At Aeaea, we think of ritual as a way of making the intangible tangible. A way of giving our intentions a physical form we can see, touch, and remember.

The magic isn’t necessarily in the stone itself.
The magic is in what it means to you.

When you work with a certain stone, you’re creating a small physical reminder of something you wish to cultivate, protect, release, or call closer.

Choose your symbols accordingly.
And then—make a little magic.

🔮 Join us for our Spell Jar Workshop at The Shelves of Aeaea, where we’ll explore symbolism, intention, herbs, crystals, and the art of creating a ritual object that is uniquely yours.

Women’s Equality Day
August 26, 2026

Equality isn’t about becoming someone else.
It is about having the freedom to become fully ourselves.

To choose our own lives.
To take up space without apology.
To be soft without being diminished.
To be powerful without being punished for it.
To nurture without being defined by our capacity to care for others.
To lead, to create, to wander, to build, to begin again.
To decide for ourselves what a meaningful life looks like.

Women have spent generations pushing against the boundaries of who we were told we could be. And the work is not simply to move those boundaries a little farther out.
It is to remember that they were never ours to begin with.

So today, we honor the women who challenged the limits placed upon them—and the women who continue to do so.
And perhaps most importantly, we honor the right of every woman to become herself.

Not who she was told to be.
Not who the world finds most convenient.
Not who she is expected to be.

Herself.

That, too, is freedom.
Happy Women’s Equality Day. 🌿

🌕 Full Sturgeon Moon in Pisces • August 27, 2026

The Full Sturgeon Moon rises in the final weeks of summer, when gardens are heavy with abundance, the days are beginning to shorten, and the first quiet hints of autumn can be felt in the air.

The Sturgeon Moon takes its name from the Great Lakes, where lake sturgeon were historically abundant in late summer. For the people who lived along these waters, this was a season of plenty—a time when these ancient fish were easier to catch.

This year, the Full Moon falls in Pisces, a water sign traditionally associated with intuition, imagination, compassion, and surrender. There is something especially fitting about a water-born moon meeting a water sign at the threshold between seasons.

The Full Moon asks us to notice what has come to fruition. Pisces invites us to soften our grip—to trust what we cannot yet see and allow some things to simply flow away.

And so, as summer begins its slow turning toward autumn, perhaps we might ask:
What am I ready to release before I enter the next season?

Step outside tonight. Watch the Moon rise. Listen to the insects. Feel the changing air.

Let the water of Pisces remind you:
Not everything needs to be carried forward.
Some things are meant to be released.
Some things are meant to flow.

🌿 Moon Ritual: Make yourself a cup of tea and sit beneath the moonlight for a few quiet minutes. Write down three things you’re ready to leave behind with this season. When you’re finished, fold the paper away—or safely burn it as a symbolic act of release.

The season is turning.
Let yourself turn with it. 🌙

Yoga is more than placing your body into shapes.

This leg here. That arm there. Bend. Twist. Flex. Extend.

All of that physicality is really an invitation to direct our awareness inward.

We begin with the gross: the limbs, the torso, the physical shape of the body. Then, gradually, our attention can become more subtle—the breath, the gaze, sensation, energy, and the quiet movements of the mind.

This is one of the things I love about Ashtanga.

The practice is largely the same from one day to the next. The same postures, the same sequence, the same familiar transitions. And yet, it doesn’t have to become boring.
Because once the body understands the shape, you can stop focusing solely on where your body is and begin exploring what is happening within it.

What is actually engaging in my hip?
What is releasing?
Where is there resistance?
How does a subtle change alter the breath?
How does it change the quality of my attention?

How can the very same posture feel dynamic one day and deeply restorative another?

The shape is only the beginning.
The real practice is what happens when your attention begins to move beyond the shape and sink inward.

That is where yoga begins to become less about what the body is doing—and more about learning how to inhabit your own experience.

The body performs the posture.
The mind discovers the practice.
