Very few folks are born with the natural ability to lead. For the last few months we've been running a short leadership growth class for our black belts, and it's been so rewarding seeing the results and watching the confidence grow. Came to full fruition today watching Miss W absolutely own a class of 16... as a middle schooler.

Happy Labor Day, everyone. Just a reminder that we will not be having classes today. Hope everyone had a chance to spend some quality time with friends and family over the holiday weekend. Back to work tomorrow!!! 🥋

I had one more promotion that I really wanted to get in because this little guy has been hitting 2 to 3 classes a week for a long time at this yellow belt. His kicks are looking good... he puts a lot of work into his kata, and always shows up with that smile. Great job, Benny!!! You earned that.

Congratulations to Matteo today on earning your yellow belt this evening. This little guy attended nearly every white belt class since mid June. He could now in and out in Korean with confidence, count to 10 in Korean and has some of the nicest stances I've seen in a 4 year old. Great job, buddy.

With summer being so crazy, it has been difficult to find an evening for a larger belt promotion. That being said... some promotions are what I'd call "over due" Giovanni has been working hard for a long time and earned a promotion to green belt today. Congratulations, Gio!!! Updated schedule begins this week.
Couple things to note:
- Morning classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays
- Monday night adult class has changed to brown and black belts all ages. We have a lot of folks knocking on the door of black belt level, so this will be a good opportunity to bone up on curriculum. This Monday, we'll be reviewing every form from white belt until we run out of time.
- Thursday night added a small 10 minute black belt leadership "class". This will be an opportunity to help the black belts learn some teaching skills, and review things we need to work on with our lower belts.

It's great to see the places our weapons program is going. Here is a kumite Ava demonstrated with Mr Tasche. The kumite is kuwe (garden hoe) vs eku (oar). Ava was promoted to brown belt and beginning to prepare for her black belt in Kobudo.

Mr Kyle's brick break Friday night. Despite rolling an ankle midway through the event, he had wanted to complete this break. Way to push through.
