Waupaca Area Triathlon

Waupaca Area Triathlon The annual Waupaca Area Triathlon is a fun sporting event for all ages and skill levels held on the The swim is in Shadow Lake, which will be point to point.

This event takes place at South Park's Shadow Lake which is in downtown Waupaca and easy to find. The bike route then travels through the quaint, quiet countryside southeast of Waupaca, past picturesque lakes and rolling hills. The run continues on to the very flat and fast city streets of Waupaca as the final leg is completed. Individuals may compete in a Long Course: 1/2 mile swim, 20 mile bike, 3 mile run or Short Course: 1/4 mile swim, 12 mile bike or 2 mile run. Relay teams are allowed in the Long Course.

Race day weather looks ideal, 65 degrees low chance of rain. Water temp today 76.5 degrees. Wetsuit legal. Ecoli levels are just above high normal so we advise washing hands and face after event. The South Park beach is open today for all swimmers per Waupaca Park and Recreation. Look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow.

Registration Closes Monday Aug 10th midnight sharp. No race day or registrations accepted after Monday. Plenty of spots available for the 25th Anniversary Edition of the Waupaca Area Waupaca Area Triathlon special finisher medals will be given out by The Waupaca Foundry.

The Deep Water swim for the 9-10 age group in the Kids Tri was eliminated this year. The Youth Race on Saturday, August 15 has openings. The Youth Race is ages 9-17. Please check out the website www.waupacaaareatriathlon.com for more information on this race.
