Second day of the Mercury National Walleye Tournament gave my son Jimmy and I the cold front blues. Our goal was to keep only fish 17" or bigger. First fish 17 1/2", second fish 17 1/2", third fish 18" then came nothing but small fish. We finished in the top 100, had fun. Next year!

48th Mercury National Walleye Tournament. My Son Jimmy and I have been fishing this tournament for 27 years. After the first day we are in 69th place out of 267. We got some work to do tomorrow to gain some ground. Over all the years I have fished tournaments this is my favorite. Thank you Mercury Marine for hosting a great event.

Casting for Kids was a record breaking year, raising over $220,000 for American Family Children's Hospital and the UW Carbone Cancer Center. Since it started 8 years ago the total raised is nearly $1.2 million. Can't wait to help out again on May 15th 2027

Wow what a weekend. Saturday Casting for Kids fishing tournament. A great event that raises money for Children's cancer research in Madison WI. The young man in my boat caught his first ever Walleye 20", then his first Pike 24" plus many other fish. Great time for a great cause. Then on Sunday fishing with Waukesha High school fishing club on Pewaukee Lake. The two young men in my boat kicked butt and caught fish. They got Pike, walleye, crappies and Bluegill. A great day on the water with the next generation of anglers.
